You're ruler of the world for ONE decision.  What would you outlaw/make mandatory?  Why?  What do you think would come of it?

I'd like to outlaw impoliteness. Not just impoliteness in the linguistic sense, i.e. calling people a "f**king bastard", but also impoliteness in the sense of not holding the door open for the old lady with her shopping bags. Just being a tad nicer to people around you and being mindful of others' feelings will do a lot of good, I believe.

This doesn't address environmental concerns, so I'd need a second rule to go with that.

I would make it mandatory for schools to teach critical thinking courses to, say, high school students... Though I'd like to begin it even younger.

I don't know what a world full of people with good critical thinking skills would be like... But it's got to be a good thing.

But snarking at people who believe anything and everything they come across is one of the simple pleasures of life.  Or at least it is to me Cheesy
