Peter B. Ellis does have some questionable theories and points, I agree with you.  I'm not sure if he is comparable to say, Edin McCoy, but a cup of salt is necessary when reading his work.

 I love a bit of neopagan cheese Dara you know yourself its harmless pap aimed at silly consumerists but PBE isnt a neopagan and isnt writing for neopagans. He has a degree in CS, his books are presented as history books and the target audience is the Irish diaspora. IMO he takes advantage of the diaspora's lack of knowledge and their thirst to learn to make money by giving them what they want to hear and that is really bad out. He is just a journo, journos do it all the time... look at the enquirer space alien marries fish boy stuff... but the arse tries to preface his books so he looks like he knows what hes on about... and because he so certainly does being Irish and being formally educated hes a real scumbag. Not just for that reason... have you heard of the mccarthy mor fraud? Its the reason Ireland will never have its old family system back again and PBE endorsed the fraudster as part of his book on genealogy. He is a low life twat imo. If he wasnt old hed get a slap.

Neither will I.  

Just to clarify my point before, I was not saying that the child would be a Druid, rather an assistant (servant) to the Druid.  Given your evidence (refering to #2), I would say that is probably not the case, but it was an interesting thought.  

I wish I knew more about Brehon Law to discuss further, but I'll quietly go back to my books and let someone else chime in.
