Out of sheer curiosity, I was wondering if any of you, at any point in your spiritual journey heretofore, have ever stumbled into an encounter or experience with a deity far removed from your typical sphere of awareness? If so, what omens or signs did they manifest for you to latch onto? Also, who was the deity in question and, as a point of comparison, which pantheon do you find yourself most frequently attached to now in the bulk of your practice?

Thanks in advance for your commentary!

Well, there is one deity who's name I have yet to get and sometimes I'm ok with that. All I know is she's female, there was a hint of maybe being a serpent goddess, but I think that was mostly because of her appearing to me in a meditation. I was meditating and was in a cave surrounded by many colors and so on. A friend told me that could be a sign as to what goddess she was since it was in a cave setting. I haven't heard from her since that experience over 10 years back but I do think about her every now and then. Sometimes I will come across those serpent goddess statues, the real old ones, while browsing the internet and I feel a connection to it.

I'm a Druid, or at least I really adhere to the Druid lifestyle. I love nature and the Celtic culture and mythos. The thing is that I never really clicked with any of the deities within the Celtic pantheon. I've tried, believe me, but it just didn't work for me. Whether it was my fault or something else preventing contact. The one pantheon that has been with me since childhood, the one that has always popped up was the Greek one. Ironically it's the one I tried to stay away from as much as possible. I know the greek gods can be hard and I had a very abusive childhood and the last thing I wanted was another abusive relationship with anything that was above me. From school plays, or projects, the Greek Gods always manifested themselves. The one that seemed more persistent was Artemis. Now I finally realized there is no point in running away and I accepted my calling. Now Artemis is my go to god. Even for things she isn't associated with I ask for her help. While I was pregnant Hermes came into my life and I believe he has an attachment to my son.

In my practices I still use the Greek gods. I've tried using ancestral gods as well but it feels right using the Greek pantheon. I still feel guilty not using any Celtic deities, but I can't argue with who is attached to me.
