I'm not sure how to phrase this. I have a blog post with laods of background info if anyone cares to wade through it here http://dedicantspath.blogspot.com/2011/05/creativity-as-spiritual-act-sacrifice.html if anyone cares to slog through.

In more succinct terms, here's my quandary. I'm working on a continuing a large creative project that is likely to last at least a year if not longer and co-opt quite a bit of my time and focus. Now, I'd like to... I don't know, dedicate? This effort somehow but I don't have a patron or matron deity (as of yet) and am unsure how to proceed regarding that.

I feel like the concept of Awen should play into this somehow as well.

Thoughts?

Which deity(ies) do you work with on a regular basis?

You could always dedicate this work to the Three Kindreds ("may my creative efforts honor the Mighty, Noble, and Shining ones, and may they see fit to bless my project in turn" sort of thing) if you're not sure.

I don't work with any deities at the moment, I tend to kind of send out a signal flare - so to speak - and declare that I'm offering/praying etc to any interested parties and then proceed. I think part of my floundering comes from this lack of a  patron or matron. Hmm.

I've never given a poem or some writing I'm working on as a sacrifice (I just cannot burn my writings), but I have dedicated the time I've spend on the project to my Deity.  In your case, since you don't have Anyone in mind, you could do it as a general offering to the Shining Ones as a "I'm here and I would like to honor you with this project, etc."  You might even want to ask for their blessing in exchange.

I've often thought of making a little note in the future books I will be writing (you know, someday? Wink ) as a way to acknowledge Deity and make that as a way of honoring Them or an act of devotion.  Maybe that's something you could do as well.

Yeah, those are great thoughts, thank you for your feedback. I've considered a note of dedication, I have a page in the first issue of Slow Burn to acknowledge our kickstarter donors and thank our company Art Director for being a BAMF.  It would certainly be feasible to convert it to a dedication to the Kindreds.

More things to ponder I suppose Smiley thank you again
