I was looking for an explanation if possible for a strange occurrence as I was performing some candle magick.

On the full moon, I wanted perform a spell release something from my life. So I got a black candle, wrote the thing on the candle, also wrote Protect Me on it, to avoid any negativity. I started the ritual, burned a picture of it and focused on what I wanted, etc. the candle burned all night on my alter in my bedroom, and then in the morning as I was waking up, I heard a crack and saw that the glass candle holder had cracked.  I did some research and read in another site that I should perform the ritual again but using both a black and a white candle so the next night, last night, I started again. I cleansed the candles. The whole time, I burned sage incense to make sure that the space was not negatively charged. I started the black one burning first, burned the paper with the relevant information, then lit the white one with the flame from the black one, and set it next it. As I am watching these candles burn, I see something really strange. The white candle starts to build a wax bridge and connects itself to the black one. This connection persists through out the burn. At one point, the white bridge starts to hollow out because the black hot wax starts to melt it and it starts to fill like a sink, with black wax, but the side of the white sink melts and the black wax falls out. So as the candles burn, the black candle has some white wax dripping from it but the white candle never got black wax on it. Also, the white candle burned faster than the black and the black candle flame was always way taller than the white candle flame.

I am intrigued by this since it was a horizontal transit of wax, defying gravity! What does all this mean? I have no idea how to interpret this. I have attached pictures so you can see that I am not making this up. Any insight would be appreciated. thanks.

It sounds to me like there was a draft blowing past the white candle, in the direction of the black candle.  An air current can cause the candle closer to it burn faster, while the warmer air from the first candle sort of protects the second candle.  If the air current is strong enough (which still might not *feel* very strong), it could create a little point on the first candle where the wax sticks out a tiny bit toward the second candle.  Then, as more and more melted wax flows and is blown that way, it will gradually build up to form a bridge.

Not sure I'm explaining this very well, but that's my $0.02.   Wink

I concur - that explains both why the white one was burning down a bit faster, and how the wax buildup began (and once it begins, it becomes a place where more wax can accumulate).  The draft - I'll go farther than Aster, and say that candles are much more sensitive to drafts than you are, and even one too slight for you to feel can have dramatic effects on candles - would have been coming from exactly the opposite side of the white candle from where the wax bridge was.

Also, on horizontal-ness:  first, an imperceptible slope may seem horizontal but it's still a slope; second, liquid moving horizontally isn't actually defying gravity, it's just being liquid - it has to go somewhere unless it's contained.  Consider spilling a glass of water onto a table - the table may seem perfectly horizontal, but if the spilled water flows in any particular direction, you know the table slopes ever so slightly downward in that direction; if the table really is perfectly horizontal, the water will flow in all directions.
