Has anyone used this site to create webpages?  If so, do you like it?  Why/Why not?  Any tips?

I've never heard of it. However, from a quick glance it looks nice, but seems like they are going to need some way to make money from it eventually.

I thought it was pretty awesome because it offered professional looking sites at no cost.  I have no idea how they make money. I guess they do it like everyone else does, ads. Tongue

However, they say they do not put ads on your site. To me this type of "no apparent plan to make money" stuff is a red flag saying "When we run out of investor money we are going to have to charge everyone for their sites or shut down."

However, they say they do not put ads on your site. To me this type of "no apparent plan to make money" stuff is a red flag saying "When we run out of investor money we are going to have to charge everyone for their sites or shut down."
Or, "We'll build our clientele by offering our stuff for free, because of course all those people will happily pay for it once our investors start wondering when they're gonna get a return on their investment."

IMO, they grossly overestimate the Venn-diagram overlap between "people who will like our stuff well enough to use it" and "people who like, and can afford, our stuff well enough to pay for it".  And underestimate the loss of goodwill likely to result from not saying upfront that it was a free trial period (or more accurately, either are entirely ignorant of the concept of goodwill as a business asset, or think it doesn't apply to e-business).

I'm sure it's sometimes the naivete of not having a long-term plan, or of assuming investors look for "success" independently of looking for returns, but I'm no longer able to believe that's what's happening time after time after time; I've become convinced that some significant percentage planned it that way from the start (not least because investors are likely to want to see a long-term plan with more than Underpants Gnome detail).

I have a Weebly site and it's pretty easy to use. I like it because you can get a somewhat nice looking site without knowing any code.

I've never heard of it. However, from a quick glance it looks nice, but seems like they are going to need some way to make money from it eventually.
They have a Pro version you can pay for that increases how many pages you can have, bandwidth usage and storage space.

Ahhh! This makes their survivability less questionable.
