So I was browsing through the Cauldron's Spell Grimoire and I found your Realization Spell. For those who've read it/used it, you know it's a fairly simple spell and a neutral one that simply sends out energy to a person who has hurt or wronged you. It's not unlike a justice spell, but it doesn't invoke any laws of three or anything.

So the other night I performed in for a former friend of mine. We were best friends for almost four years, and he always treated me as though I were inferior to him. He always acted like the universe should bow down to him and offer him everything on a gold platter. He was always extremely rude and bitchy. One night, I finally had enough and I told him we were no longer friends. I did that spell to try and awaken something inside of him, something much more meaningful. I wanted him to realize his wrong ways and become a better person.

I did this about a week ago, and today his mom died.

He texted me apologizing for everything, and he wants to see me soon.

I know it's arrogant to think that I'm responsible for this, but I can't help but feel as though I may have indeed put something here into motion. If that's the case, then I feel absolutely dreadful. This was not my intentions at all, I swear my heart was not in a dark place. All I'm asking for from you guys is some understanding. Perhaps there could've been other things working for this to happen?

I'm not very adept when it comes to spell-casting, so I don't know how valuable my comment will be to you.
Am I right in assuming that you prepared the spell with the thought in mind: "He has treated me badly, and I wish for him to see and accept that and react differently towards me in the future"? If so, I don't think that you have to feel responsible for his mother's death.
Maybe your spell worked in the way that usually, he would have texted someone else after learning of his mom's death, but your spell made him text you instead.

I hope this helps in some way to put your mind at ease.

That realization spell can't make someone die. It works on the target's attitudes, not the physical world.  Causing death via magic isn't easy. It takes intention -- not to mention a lot of energy and quite a bit of knowledge to stand any chance of success. You claim to lack the intention and I'm fairly certain you lack the knowledge.

Then this is all coincidental, right?

Probably.  Anyone can die at any given time without warning.  It's really nothing you should worry about causing.

I'd say the chance that your spell had anything to do with the death is about the same as the chance the average person has of being hit by lightning this month.
