I think the feral thing isn't so much about animism, per se.  More about spirituality and/or religion.

I like that feral thing. Really - see it's getting so bright in here? It's the light bulb over my head. *lol*

(Feral seems to have two meanings in English. In German the word for something undomesticated would be 'wild' for something that was once domesticated and returned to a natural state (like ... let's say my former-garden now called jungle-behind-the-house Wink) it would be 'verwildert'.)

Hope you guys can live with my profile change to the german 'Hexe' - I almost forgot what powers this word is bearing, it has a quite different connotation for me than witch. (Feral ones included Wink)

I agree:
"...but I know every rock and tree and creature
has a Life
has a Spirit
has a Name..."
 - "Colors in the Wind" from the animated movie Pocahontas (1995)

and I actually got goosebumps when I first heard the words in that song.

Just curious:  What does it mean?

Just curious:  What does it mean?

Hexe = Witch
But for me it was always a very powerful word, feral Wink and mysterious.

When I was about...don't know 7 or so...some girls in school said: You look like a witch. (I'm darkhaired and I'm not on the sweet looking side either). This may should have bothered me, but you know I felt so proud about that, I can't explain. I just felt that way.

I guess 'witch' is also a negative associated word in english, a 'Hexe' is usually nothing positive. Lot of people try not to use it. I used it from the start on, but somehow forgot how damn powerful it is. (Due to a flood of Charmed Witchlings maybe? Don't know).

So getting back to a plain 'Hexe' is kind of going back to the roots for me.

Oh, the origin of the word is said to come from 'Hagazussa' the one who sits on the fence, Fencerider.  The fence being the border between the world of the domesticated nature and the feral one, also as being the border between the mundane and the spirit world.
