Sneekywren,

Just one more quick note...  Don't forget to put blank lines between paragraphs when posting, please.  (Or every 4-5 lines or so if paragraphs don't break up easily smaller than that; we're not horribly picky about correct paragraph structure here.)  It makes things a lot easier to read.

Thanks!

Sorry. I've never heard anything like that before in my life.

I guess I've been at uni too long where they encourage us not to leave spaces.

It's mainly for old farts like me, who have a hard time reading the clumps of type, and the old eyes can't handle colors and size changes and all that stuff.

How does magic play in with your religion?  Does it at all?

If it doesn't, why not?  If it does, why?  Is it required to believe in magic to be a member of your faith?

I thought it was.  Now I've found, it isn't.  I talk to my gods and at this time, they patiently (or drop that clue-by-four) find ways to let me know what they want.

I don't think I need to believe in magic to have dealings with my gods but they aren't forbidden either.  I just haven't felt the need to stretch those muscles any further at the moment.  (They are too busy giving me other homework right now.)

My religion/faith, while losely baised on a multitude of other systems, is for the most part of my own creation. And magic is a part of that system, so although i don't use spellwork and prayer together or call on the gods in magic(well not often anyway), i do concider magic to be a part of my "religion".
Great question as well, had to really made me question my thoughts on the topic.

I have always thought of magic as a type(s) of energy, much like electrisity or fire, and so I guss my religion  pretty much leaves the use of maglc up to the indivdual.

My religion dictates that I use whatever tools at my disposal in moral and ethical ways that advance me on my Path (life-path).  I believe in magic.  Therefore, my religion dictates that I use magic.

I call upon my gods in my magical workings, but I tend not to ask them to lend me energy, per se.  To refer to the bucket analogy, I still carry the bucket, but I sometimes ask the gods to spot me or lend me a hand so I can get on the ladder before I try and climb it with the bucket.

I have been a Wiccan Witch for 11 years, and magick is so much a part of my life and faith/religion they can't be separated.  I cast spells all day long, as well as chant, perform daily rituals involving my altar and Patron Goddess Bast.  There is no way to separate it.  It is all part of my daily spiritual practice, which has become so much a part of my life that it is my life.
