I'm not sure what kind of energy I'm in need of to be honest. I discovered this forum about two months ago, and its helped me in so many ways. I'm hoping that by posting this here ... maybe you all can do something together that I/we haven't been able to as of yet ...

Maybe a bit of background?

My co-worker and I have decided to become buisness partners of a sort. She owns three horses of her own, and needed to find a larger place, with more than three stalls that she has now. She approached me, knowing my own need for a place to live, as I'm sleeping on an air mattress on my grandmothers living room floor right now. This was about a month and a half ago. We started looking at places to rent, horse properties with enough stalls to make a decent board income off of. We found a place, with a beautiful four bedroom house on it, 11 stalls, and a bunch of other stuff. So, we skirt around a few issues with the management company (*they wanted me at first to go through a credit check, which I would never pass due to some past crap that happened this year ...the reason why I am currently sleeping on my grandmas floor...) We got around that, and are set to move in Aug 1st with two other women that we signed on as roommates.

We want to specialise in Kids ... bringing in families with horses to board, or kids that wanna show at the local levels, but the parents don't know enough or can't afford the 'pro trainers' to help their kids. Riding lessons, Kids Camps, Training, and a whole bunch of other stuff.

We put flyers up at the local tack stores, grocery stores, we even spent 3 hours last friday night walking around bookstore parking lots putting small flyers ~over 800 total~ on cars that had been driven to Harry Potter Book Release Parties. We were advertising for a Kids Camp that is scheduled for the first week in August, a camp that would have netted well over $3000 for us our first week in business.

I guess I shouldn't be suprised to see that it didn't all just ... fill up like we imagined it would ... getting flooded with calls for boarding when theres FIVE major Boarding places that are all closing in the area before the end of October ... No kids signed up for our Camp ... nothing. We have been advertising for a month straight, and usually in this city's horse industry its a pretty guarenteed thing ... you provide a decent place to Board, you get boarders.

I dunno whats going on ... nor am I sure exactly what Kind of energy I'm asking for ... What I'd love to see is our Camp filled, and a few good Boarded Horses in the back yard. I know its still early ...we're not even in the house at all yet, but I know asking for some thoughts for ... Prosperity ... thats what I'm asking for I guess ... A Prosperous start to the month and the buisness.

As a side note .... this is why I've not logged in to the board in ... I have no idea how many weeks lol. I have a bit of catching up to do.

Anyways ... I know you all have done amazing things before ... A small part of that would be very appriciated.

Your profile says Phoenix, but I'm thinking an 11-stall facility would be more likely in Cave Creek or Apache Junction area.  (I have a horse friend in Cave Creek, and I used to work at Don Donnelly stables out in Gold Canyon.)

Starting any new business is hard, hard work, especially if you aren't embedded in the community.

If you aren't adverse to magic, there are a number of fairly simple prosperity/business spells floating around that could help. There is nothing that will making starting a new business easy (unless you just get lucky), but every little bit can help.

I'm not sure what kind of energy I'm in need of to be honest.

First of all, (((((((HUGS)))))))))

I do understand the prosperity thing.  Been working at that myself!

One thing I have learned, is send in the complete package with a prosperity spell.  For instance, visualize what you want to see, but also visualize what you want for it to accomplish.  The good things, all the things you mentioned that are to help kids accomplish stuff with horses, for instance, the good it will do.  Send out these good vibes when you send out the image of how well you want your place to do.

Balance seems to be the key.  Dont want money/prosperity just for its sake when doing a spell, keep it in perspective as to what good it is expected to accomplish as well.  That is what has been working for me, and also where I messed up here recently.    It is like the universe takes more notice when it serves a common good.  That is true for ME anyway!  But then I mix spells and prayer together, so maybe that is why.

I am sending energy to you Smiley

I hate to say this, but if five places are closing down, maybe there isn't the market for what you're offering at the moment?  I don't know the area, so what proportion of the 'supply' is five places?  Is that a drop in the ocean, or is that virtually everyone operating in town?

I don't want to be the voice of gloom, but is it possible that there isn't the demand that you need?

The house is actually a Cave Creek Address ... On the border between North Phx and Cave Creek. Smiley Just haven't updated anything yet.  Its a private home actually in a rural area between the two cities.

I don't want to be the voice of gloom, but is it possible that there isn't the demand that you need?

More a drop in the Ocean ... three of the five places (*one being my employeers current barn location until September when we move facilities to another ranch...) ... three have been around for about 35 years each. They all started about the same time, and all three owners simply decided to retire for their own reasons. The lady that owns the ranch where I am working now, has been in the Boarding buisness for 45 years, and simply decided that it was time to retire, as the land she was sitting on became worth way too much NOT to sell. Granted its gone to a developer that will build luxury homes, but... everything has to end sometime. As for the other two bigger places *when I say big i mean at least 200 stalls ...and thats a LOT of horses to take care of day after day after day* ... I don't know the inside stories, but I have heard that one owners husband is critically Ill, and sold the land to pay for medical bills, and the other one ... he bought the ranch for about 5 mill, and simply couldn't keep up with the bills. Wants to sell to move out of state. The other two are smaller places, and just got pressured out by neighbors disliking the dust, smell, flies ... same ol same ol.

So, really, the area isn't decreasing in need for boarding in the way of less horses out there TO board. Its simply that the larger boarding ranches (200 + stalls) can't stay afloat financially, or they are offered huge amounts of money to sell out. Which is what Penny gave into. She owns a ten acre parcel in a prime residential area, where the land itself (before the house is accounted for) is apprasing at $400,000 a QUARTER ACRE.  And shes right in the middle of this. So ... shes got 10 acres squared off perfectly ... its a developers dream parcel. She got almost 10 mill for the land.

So  really ... the loss of the five places ... while noteworthy to those in the local industry, its not a sign that the horse economy is decreasing here. To the contrary, more people than ever are into horses. (Its estimated that as the baby boomers, as they hit grandparental status, will become the #1purchaser of horses ... for their grandkids. Thus increasing the number of horse owners by thousands, if not millions in the next 5-10 years.) Its more a sign that the boarding industry ITSELF is shifting from the monster facility, to the smaller, backyard places that cost less to operate on a daily basis, and are more of the 'get ta know ya' rather than just a stall number.

Anyways ... I'm rambling cause its late (almost midnight) and i've been going since 5am so I'll close up here. lol.

Just a quick update on this thread ... due to some conflicts in ... ideas? No ... eh. She (my partner) wanted me to give up 2 nights a week with my kids to move in. I was going to compromise and do it then 'woke up' and realised that I was getting ready to sacrifice time with my kids and b'f to do what?... clean stalls basically.

In the end I just couldn't make the sacrifice for the dream ... the cost was way too high.

So, I thank you all and appriciate all the good wishes and thoughts and energy while things were going good, however they are no longer needed for the situation.

Heh, well understandable!  I live with my alzheimer's grandmother and take care of my alzheimer's, blind, diabetic mother to boot, so I understand very well!

Some tips, "me" time is very important, as well as "me" space.  Meditation can do wonders Wink  and remember, try not to bite your tongue too hard  Cheesy
