If you were a true animal cracker sadist, you would eat them legs firs, slowly, up to the head.  Headfirst, they die too quick.  You want them to know they are being eaten.  Grin

The squirrels at the park must be animal cracker sadists... They nibble on them for a good twelve minutes...

Does this make me their enabler?

I read a very interesting article I would like to share regarding two differing views of the use of animal crackers in ritual.

Revelry or Reverence?

(I am having a great deal of trouble posting this, I hope someone is not trying to tell me something)

It seems some people really stretch at trying to create more drama in an already overflowingly, drama filled world. As a vegetarian, I think it's a nice way for those who disagree with actual animal usage, and I also see no reason for people who are okay with it to change just because someone else disagrees. Do what resonates with you and what works for you and stay out of other people's business, lol.

Are we honestly that starved for actual conflict?lol

Bright Blessings.

Basically, ummmmmmmmmmm I guess it takes all kinds? LOL

I wonder if they go around snatching the animal crackers away from kids in the stores, or buying up all the boxes of animal crackers to save those poor spirits trapped in animal crackers! LOL

LOL

Ya know, maybe there needs to be a campaign to end those boxes - free range animal crackers?

I read a very interesting article I would like to share regarding two differing views of the use of animal crackers in ritual.

My group did a ritual involving animal sacrifice where we had a small cookie sacrifice ritual happening at the same time. We made little goat-shaped cookies, and the small children and squeamish adults broke their little goat cookie's heads off and threw them into the fire. (The actual goat sacrifice happened well out of sight and hearing of the cookie sacrifice.)

We don't usually do this sort of thing - folks either come to the animal sacrifice or they don't - but this was part of a larger gathering, and it was important for the intent of this particular ritual that everyone present be able to participate in some way. It went over very well.

Wow, this article is um just wow. However, I wonder is it bad that when I saw the title I thought "Hmm, you know if you are squicked out by animal sacrifice why couldn't you use an effigy, like animal crackers, as a stand in for the sacrifice"

I'm doing an effigy sacrifice with some corn husk dolls, so I couldn't see why not.

At the same time, the husk dolls have been made with the purpose in mind, feasted and gifted as they will be sacrificed, and are being sacrificed to a deity in a pantheon in which corn husks/ corn hold a connection to life, and have been given a period of time 'living' as honored figures.

Without investing the additional energy to make them more than just animal crackers, they are just crackers!  lol.  Cast my vote for *just wanted something to be offended about*

Then again if I see someone in embroidered robes- let alone multiple persons of that cast, at an open circle,I might imagine they were just there to stir up trouble rather than to actually participate, since they apparently have a ritual group of their own that necessitated the robes.  At the very least question why they were deigning to bless me with their prescence.
