Hi, guys.

Well, my job contract is up at the end of this week. (And the book is done! Except final edit.)

I've applied for a few positions, but there's one job (a college admin position) that I'm really hoping to get a call about this week.  I've done a lot of work to build up my qualifications and skills this year, and I know I'm a good candidate. I have excellent references.  I just..need... the call.

I got a call for an interview at a garden centre today, which is part of my backup plan.  If I don't get a decent semi-professional position this spring, I'll work in horticulture through the summer and (hopefully-I'm quite sure I'll be accepted) take a one-year college program (different college)in court support services (court clerking) in the fall.

I feel like things are going well, but I've got such a complicated web going, I could really use a little extra energy toward getting the admin job.  I'd appreciate anything you guys could send my way.

Thanks. (Oh, and I've been using one of the job spells out of the Cauldron grimoire.)

I've always got some spare good vibes to send the way of job hunting. I know how it is, and I've got my fingers crossed for you.

I can sympathize.  I'm still job hunting as well.  It can be so very frustrating.

Happy job thoughts coming your way.

Thanks, guys!

No word, yet, but according to an acquaintance who works at the college, they're notoriously slow with their hiring process, so I'm still optimistic.

Meanwhile, I've contacted my old employer about doing some landscaping. (There have turned out to be transportation problems with the garden centre thing, and the pay isn't great, so while I haven't burned that bridge, I'll only do that if can't get anything else, including my old golf course job.)

I'll keep you posted.

Update time!  Well, I haven't heard anything about the college admin position, but I went in and spoke with my supervisor at my old golf course job, and he's willing to take me back and redevelop my position so I'll be splitting my time between the gardens, greens department admin, and environmental monitoring. (No more lawnmowers!) I'll also have time to re-establish the relationship between the golf course and the high school across the street, and take on a few co-op students.

I've also been accepted into the program of study I applied for, so it looks like I'll be in school again in the fall.

So, while this wasn't exactly the outcome I was aiming for, I think it's a good one. I'm starting my new job on Monday.  Grin
