Just wondering if anyone has any music they particularly like.  In my family music has always been a form of expression, if you can't say it you play it, lol.  (again, please move if I'm in the wrong bit!)

At the moment I am in to Jocelyn Pook (feat Chuscales).  I think she is (they are) amazing.  My Mum went to see her live not too long ago and said it was a really emotional and spiritual event.

What does anybody else have?

Neme.

I listen to songs I like, not bands.

Well, except for Pink Floyd. <3

Hahahaha, oh jeeze, I have a year of PE left.

You're lazy.  Cheesy

My school is the only school in the entire district that made Grade 11s have mandatory gym. The city is considering making gym mandatory for Grade 12s.

However, as this is my last year.. NYAH NYAH! THEY CAN'T MAKE ME! AHAHA! (that was to the School Board, just so you know) All of the schedules are out, so they can't expect someone to change their schedules at the last minute if they are all full.

Everything else except "Gangsta' Rap"... I don't care about their drugs, and their money, and their ho's... And why is it the richer they are the angrier they sound? You make 5 million a month, you have no reason to be angry!

Lol, I think this is pretty much what I like, everything but...

And yeah, why do they have to get so angry?  Mind you, maybe it's true, money doesn't make you happy...  (Although I'm pretty sure it would help Wink)

For everyone

I love to see how music affects other people, mainly because it's very important to us as a family.  F/ex, my Mum or siblings will often say 'well I was listening to such and such in the car the other day and suddenly realised this and that'.

It also makes me giggle how people start to write their lists and before you know it they are 15 times longer than expected!  Once you start...

I'm not a massive boy band fan, and that includes the Beatles *ducks flying objects* and I'm not in to most rap, but apart from that it really does depend on my mood and what I'm doing.

If I'm writing I like classical, if I'm painting I tend to prefer opera (very loud opera), driving would be 80's stuff probably but even then it varies!

My other half is a photographer, and simply cannot work on the finishing and editing without music.

My brother writes the stuff, so did my father, so I guess it's pretty much ingrained in us.

However, I couldn't play an instrument to save my life!  I can't read music (apart from knowing what the scales sound like and knowing that one higher up on a line makes higher note!) so anything I do ever try to play is "by ear".

Simon and Garfunkel, irish, and classical. Irish is my favorite because you can hear and feel the magic throbbing in it if you know how to listen (i know it sounds like just a bunch of notes at first).

Someone else who's heard of Enter the Haggis!
I too love them! I saw them a few years ago at Pennsylvania Ren Faire. Love them! I also love The Tartan Terrors. Bagpipes, penny whistles, and drums are amazing to me! I wish I had more physical recordings. Much of the "Celtic" music out that I've sampled doesn't quite suit.

Mainly, though, I listen to a lot of hardcore and grindcore music. The Number Twelve Looks Like You is probably my FAVORITE band ever, along with Pavement. *audiogasm!* Norma Jean, Fall of Troy (old stuff), Atreyu, etc. I love Tori Amos, as some have mentioned, and Fiona Apple too. A bunch of indie and alternative music... The Shins, Beck, Wilco, Sufjan Stevens. Anywho, those names are the first that come to mind. I also really love musicals. Wicked is ridiculous. Stuff like RENT and Moulin Rouge.

What does anybody else have?

I recently lost my CD case. I don’t know if it was stolen but I went to look for it one day and couldn’t find it. I about cried. I lost at least $500 worth of CD’s in that case and it had some of my favorite artists. It had all of my 80’s rock CD’s and most of my country and rock CD’s. No more Ra. No more Bon Jovi. No more Toby Keith. [sobs]

All I have left is my classical and sound track collections. I love any classical music that has a beat to it. I love Beethoven’s 5th Symphony for obvious reasons. If it can make my music player bounce across the table, then I’m happy. I also like foreign vocals. I may not know what the hell they are saying, but I like the sound.

Nickelback’s “If Everyone Cared” and The Goo Goo Dolls’ “Better Days” have just become my new personal anthems.

I listen to Apocalyptica and Nightwish. Well, I have some of their songs that some friends send me.

People apparently like to send me music. Roll Eyes
