Just wondering if anyone has any music they particularly like.
This is a very dangerous question for me.  I'm a music nerd.

The last couple of years I've been really into guitars.  Especially blues guitars.  Especially Stevie Ray and brother Jimmie.  And Buddy.  And BB. And... You get the idea, I'm sure.

Some others (I'll try to stick to genres + a few examples, or I'll go on for pages and pages):

Any and all blues - Billie Holiday, Robert Cray, Howlin' Wolf

Classic rock - Zeppelin, Floyd, Doors, Hendrix, JANIS!!!

The Beatles (pretty much a genre by themselves)

Jazz - Louis Armstrong, Bird, Ella... Not all that wild about contemporary jazz, though.

Classical - Especially if it has some bite to it - Stravinsky, Lizst, Wagner (though his personal history is hard to swallow, the music is amazing).  Also Mozart, Bach, Beethoven - that lot.

Celtic - Though I'm picky here.  I used to be really into the atmospheric "Celtic-lite" stuff like Clannad and Enya, but these days they just make me want to shoot myself.  Love anything with a good fiddle.

Old school goth: Joy Division, Bauhaus, Nephilim, Sisters of Mercy

Arabic and Indian music in general.  Plus any "world music" with good percussion.

And a few extras:  Johnny Cash, Ray Charles, James Brown, Jeff Buckley, the Mission, James Taylor, Joni Mitchell...

I'll stop there.  Except to second (third?) the "country and rap make me want to set myself on fire" motion.  And add pretty much any pop, especially from 1990 on, to that list.

Ooo Reggae!  I forgot to include reggae on my list!  Probably because I haven't heard as my of it as I like, but I adore Marley and the few others I have heard...

Need to add Zappa to my list as well.  He's another genre by himself.

(By Zappa, I do mean Frank, of course.  Though I did see Dweezil live playing his dad's stuff and he put on a great show!  And Ahmet, in addition to being quite the cutie, can sure sing.)

Ahmet is Dweezil's little brother.  They had a TV show together called "Happy Hour" on which they would perform together - think burly, bald, lounge singer with the Zappa humor.  My sweetie and I were addicted to it.  Unfortunatly, we seemed to be the only ones because it was cancelled after just a few episodes.

Well for me I think the better question may be what do I NOT like. And the answer to that is not a whole lot... except rap... oh and opera. Now, there are some things that I only like s little bit, like Jazz, Blues, and classical

Just wondering if anyone has any music they particularly like.  In my family music has always been a form of expression, if you can't say it you play it, lol.  (again, please move if I'm in the wrong bit!)

At the moment I am in to Jocelyn Pook (feat Chuscales).  I think she is (they are) amazing.  My Mum went to see her live not too long ago and said it was a really emotional and spiritual event.

What does anybody else have?

Neme.

My musical tastes are very, very eclectic. I enjoy listening to everything from alternative rock to new age to opera.
