oh, ok. we have a rosebush...except it never makes flowers. we really need to work on that.

Is it getting enough sun?  Phosphorus?  Sometimes too much nitrogen makes plants put on lots of leaves but few flowers.  In short, lots of things can effect blooming...

how much do you get in a bottle? i mean, how much does 5-7 dollars buy? 1/4 cup?

More like 0.5 to 1 oz of the less expensive oils.  Sad  The thing is, though, you only need a few drops at a time; it's really concentrated stuff.  So even 0.5 oz will last you quite a while.  (I have a half-ounce bottle of Aura Cacia's lavendar EO that I bought a while back and used for tons of batches of bath products and cleaning stuff, 5-15 drops per batch, and I think I've still got about half the bottle left.)

particular kinds? well, i need lavender, tea-tree, and eucalyptus, if that's what you mean. i wonder if whole foods would have them.

A lot of health food stores have them.  I believe, when I was looking for them recently, I checked and Wild Oats, if you have that particular health food store, has them.   Your mom isnt as apt to frown if you want to go to a health food store is she?

Rosewood, if you just like the scent, is cheap for the rose scent.  I concur with the opinion already offered on that one  Grin

I would call around first, if I were you before just going to a place, to make sure they have them.

Good luck!  They are great for making bath salts btw.

Where can you find them, and are they very expensive?

I buy mine from the below website.  Sometimes these things are hard to find in Mississippi.  Smiley

XP I have no idea. I am an absolute novice when it comes to anything natural because I live in a big city with parents less than interested in gardening.

She is a good person, sometimes throws in a sampler with a purchase.

FWIW, my .5 oz bottle of Frankincense cost $95US.  I use a syringe and 23 gauge needle to dole it out in tiny drops. Smiley

No wonder the wise men considered it such a valuable gift.  (And it does work, btw.)
