TC has a lot of resources on religions, magic and mythology; that's what we talk about after all. But sometimes we end up discussing some other complex ideas ... like quantum physics, or evolution, or chaos theory. What do we do if we just don't get it? As we know, sometimes Google and Wikipedia just don't cut it.

So I'm putting out a hat for links to good science websites, those that discuss advanced (or even basic) topics in ways a layperson can wrap their head around. Here are a few to start us off:

http://www.badastronomy.com/ (Astronomy, particularly debunking the Moon Hoax theory)
http://www.theodoregray.com/PeriodicTable/ (Chemistry, the wooden periodic table table, with samples)
http://www.talkorigins.org/ (evolution, very comprehensive site)
http://www.scienceblogs.com/loom/ (evolution, Carl Zimmer's Loom)

Drexel University has a Math Forum site that I've found very helpful as I tackle sacred geometry. Their library section is particularly useful:

Here's another of my favorites, great for us amateur biology fanatics; it really makes you feel that all of life on earth is one big flow of kinship:

Cladistics at its best! If you're still operating under the old "kingdoms" many of us learned in school (plants, animals, fungi, protozoa), this will an especially fun journey for you.

Hey, that table is maybe four miles from me, I'll have to break in.  I even know people who work there.  HMMMM.  Maybe the kids museum can convince him to let it be shown.

he actually makes and sells museum displays of the periodic table ... not table-shaped though. And posters. And from his site he seems like the kind of guy who would love to do a presentation for kids or something like that.  Grin Good luck!
