I just did a little poking around. Some options seem to include
spring/fall
vernal/autumnal
Pisces equinox and Virgo equinox (based on the constellations they're in)
Northward equinox and southward equinox (based on motion of the apparent orbit, I think.)

I guess I should have been clearer/more specific. (I was tired last night when I posted: we'd only been back from Toppenish for a couple hours and Susu had pups almost immediately after our return so I got to play "midwife" to her, too.)

I'd actually meant the "religious" names (ie: Mabon, etc) instead of the usual spring/summer/winter/fall.  Embarrassed

A general response to all: Thanks for you answers. I think I got my question answered.  Cheesy

You mean.. people live in places where there ISN'T snow in April? Shocked

Actually, I do. South Carolina is lovely in that we start having flowers blooming in February. Last year we did get about 1" of snow...but it was gone by midafternoon. However, I did get the day off...due to the fact that South Carolinians have no idea how to drive in the stuff, and no plows for the roads.

Well, theres always Vancouver. Roll Eyes

It really all depends on where in Canada you go.

If I was free to move, Vancouver (Victoria) is one of the places I would consider.

Erm, that'd be two - quite distinct - places.

If that was just one of those accidental mis-phrasings, ignore me.

I'd recommend Victoria. I may be biased because I've been there more, but I've been to Vancouver and it gets smoggy fast.
