Lyric, here is the link to the company's website where it lists the different brand names (hubby heard it this a.m. on the news); sorry, I don't know how to shorten the link:

Yet another reason I'm glad we only feed our cat Iams!  I worked out a long time ago that if we bought the expensive cat food our cats ate less (and produced less "offensive" waste in lower quantity), and that it lasted a lot longer than the cheap cat food.  It all worked out about the same in the end financially, and it was healthier for the cats.

Ah. I went to the link in the second post, as it specified it was a product list, and the list there didn't mention Iams.

We're still safe, as it specifies canned and foil pouches, and we only buy dry.  Thank you for pointing out that the lists in the two links are different!

Maybe I'm blind, but I'm not seeing a list of foods in your link

Sorry - found 2 brands listed.  Many more are listed on the other link so I was looking for a long list.  but I buy dry Iams too.

Why the heck did they wait to do the recall? This company deserves to be sued out of existence if they knew and did not act. But when they are sued out of existence the "business can do no wrong" types will scream about lawsuit abuse.

That's REALLY sickening.

How the hell could rat poison get mixed in with wheat gluten?

I have absolutely no idea, but I do know a class action lawsuit has been started.

you have no idea how glad I am that hubby has an inexplicable brand loyalty to Wiskas right now.  *sigh*

I feel so bad for everyone that lost an animal to this.  I can't imagine.

This just keeps getting better, doesn't it   Roll Eyes (sarcasm). I'm glad that the only Iams my girls eat is the dry food, and they don't really like any soft food at all.

The company seems to be blaming an unnamed "new supplier" according CNN Money.

I would think it would be a relatively easy contamination to occur if folks weren't careful about poisoning the rats to keep them out of grain stocks.
