This video clip is from Kuwait.  We were waiting to transport the Carabinieri equipment to Camp Sapper outside an Nasiryah when lunch time arrived.  My friend George found some Humanitarian Daily Rations among the MREs; I got my Handicam out and this is what followed.  (It is less than two minutes so dial-uppers might give it a go.)

Humanitarian Daily Rations among the MREs

I guess if it's hard to get that type of... food, it was worth the trade for the local fresh.
Good trade I'd say.

The locals grow melons, tomatoes and onions.  Not the most balanced diet, but they do (or did) trade for stuffs in Basra and other cities.

The point was to show George and myself having a good time in an otherwise un-enjoyable environment.

I still crack up at the camel-dung comment. Wink

George is still there four years later, and has changed while moving up through the ranks.

Yes, we had manly laughs when the testosterone was running wild and free.  Nothing like the threat of imminent death to bring you closer to home! Cheesy
