We all start out with a lot of wrong ideas and have to search and grow from what i have seen... I know i did.
That certainly doesn't excuse any author who adds further incorrect ideas to whatever ones the novice already has.

You can start simple without pedaling in dishonesty.  There are better beginner books.  How old are you godchildren, by the way?

Brina

quick aside and back to the regular scheduled program.

Yes there are better books, but not the one by Miies Batty.

15 and 13 for one set and the others are 17 and 19.

They're old enough to be reading much better and more accurate books, then.

At 13 (back in the early 1970s), I was reading books like Huson's Mastering Witchcraft, Regardie's The Golden Dawn, and Gardner's Witchcraft Today. I really think we underestimate what teens can read and understand.

I'd have read Triumph of the Moon had it been around.  Probably not at 13, but certainly by 16.

I wholeheartedly agree.

(I've even heard it suggested that Scott Cunningham's books are "too hard" for teens Shocked Shocked Huh Huh Roll Eyes Roll Eyes.  I've only heard this a couple of times, but I have heard it.)

I guess I'm going to have to take it away from my 11 year old then.  Cunningham is not one that I would have labeled too difficult for teens.

Strange...What those people deemed so difficult about Scott Cunningham?
I'd rather advice someone to read Cunningham than SRW.

That's scary. If Cunningham is too hard, then I'm afraid to see what they think is "just right"? Would it be something about the level of "Run, witch, run?"
