One of my favorite Beehive features was that, if I was posting a link, the process automatically gave me a handy place to type in words to refer to it with, so that instead of a URL, it showed the name of the site, or the subject addressed, or whatever seemed appropriate.

It's clear that this can be done with BBCode; I've seen it (in fact, I interrupted my reading because seeing an example reminded me that I wanted to ask).  But while I've used BBCode enough that I've internalized many of the frequently-used codes - when I first found TC, I had to learn not to automatically type square-bracket commands - I don't have a clue how to do this.

I've given this a more general subject title, because if anyone cares to give me other tips on using BBCode beyond the basic level, I'll be happy to hear them - and so that this thread can be used for beyond-basic BBCode info in general, which might be useful.

Dont do what i alwasy do and put saces between the URL commmand the = and the url or it wont work
