Of course not! What do you think TC is a democracy?! Just kidding, it doesn't matter. I'm doing this and I haven't written a word down yet so I think you're okay.  Kiss

Well, it's been talked about for a while so I figured I'd give it a thread. This way we can keep up with how much we've written...

I'm currently sitting at 0, so don't feel to bad. I've been in class or working so I haven't had time to do much. I'm going to start typing like the wind tommorow.

Writer’s block can be defeated with sharp, pointy objects and lots of chocolate for the author.  Kiss

I just opened the file for that first ms for the first time in months.  It currently has about 43K and my goal is to finish it sometime before Yule (so I can cross it off my list).  So I think I will try to write somewhere in between 7-12K this month.  If I manage to finish it with 60K I will be ecstatic.

This author doesn't do chocolate (caffeine makes me sick) but I have a feeling that procrastinating on revising for my finals during reading period (starts in a week) will give me sufficient time to get well past the block Smiley. Why the sharp pointy objects Huh sounds scary.

Why the sharp pointy objects Huh sounds scary.

Two ideas:

1.  Sharp and pointy cuts through things (like blocks) easier than dull.

2.  Writing instruments such as pens and pencils are usually sharp and pointy.  Wink

I have a quill pen I often use to scratch out ideas when I’m having problems. Why the quill pen? I. like. the. sound. [hangs head] I’m weird.

Wow, no caffeine at all? [looks down at coffee cup] Well, I suppose if you never had any to begin with then not having some wouldn’t make a whole lot of difference to you. [Holiday sweets time must suck for you.] How about mints? I like nice mints with real peppermint oil. They always seem to clear my head.

Actually, I think that's a really neat idea.  But then I aspire to be a writer too when I grow up.  Cheesy

My hubby's another no-caffeiner.  His latest feat is getting all hyper--for hours--on a sample of Frappucino that couldn't have been more than one ounce.  He's also been known to do the same thing on green tea.  Green tea, people; there's practically no caffeine in it.  I think it's at least partially psychological, but whether physiological or psychological, the effect is real, so those of us who know him well keep him carefully away from anything remotely caffeinated.  (Fortunately, he's not a big chocolate person anyway.)

There's lots of yummy non-chocolate holiday sweets, actually.  Smiley  Think pies especially, but also there are plenty of non-chocolate candies and cookies.  ...We ought to start a thread.  Maybe I'll go do that.  LOL

I have quills, but I have never tried using them for story writing, I might end up doing that. I do tend to revert to pencil and paper rather than keyboard when having real problems writing, but that is just my weirdness (why on earth does it matter what I am writing with Huh ).

I don't miss caffeine because the only feeling I have ever gotten the few times I tried it was feeling remarkably queasy... not much to miss there. And like Star said, the holidays bring plenty of non-chocolate goodies, mince pies, brandy smothered christmas pudding mmmm. And I have the added bonus that the Holidays are usually spent with my gran and siblings + extended family and my gran, brother and dad end up doing a lot of cook offs... the result is many wonderful sweets, mostly non-chocolate as they know I don't eat it.

Anyway, back to our scheduled entertainment...
