We had ice (freezing rain and sleet) the previous 2 weekend, but not as bad as the ice we had last winter.  This weekends snow is only a few inches.

Fortunately Carols horses have some care.  Well, Hansom does and Tammy now has a barn at night.  Carol traded her good saddle for that.  Willow still has to brave the elements.

I'll take the clear and cold temps, the fog, and the new snow in the hills out here, thanks.  Wink

Will that ice caked on the horses' ears cause frostbite and/or other problems?

I suppose that you don't want to hear that it is 52 outside here in Waco at the moment.  We did have our first freeze this morning (dropping to 28 for a few hours).

And I guess you really don't want to hear that it's supposed to get up into the 70s here in San Antonio later this week.

60s later this week in southern New Mexico, although it is dropping below freezing at night.  The horses are shaggy, but not frostbitten.

I hear half of Tulsa (our former home) is without electricity.  So glad to be here *evil grin*

Yikes! We didn't get it near so bad here in Lancaster... and I'm really not so far from you! I did see on the news that tons of places in Dauphin county were experiencing trouble. Hope all the ponies have blankets and can stay dry!!!

No frostbite that I can tell.  She is still inside.

Ice is worse - when the temps drop below freezing, their coats stay fluffy and keep them dry.  Cold rain makes them shiver.

We are back on the generator for the time being.  My alarm is set for 2 AM to refuel it.

That's good. For her sake, and yours too, I hope she doesn't get frostbite.

Three, Tammy, a registerd Saddle Bred,27 or 28, Hansome, a Arbian SaddleBred cross 20 and Willow full sister of Hansome, 18.  The last 2 are actually half mine.  I bought Hansome back from the sires owners when he was abou9 months or so.  Carol had traded Tammys offspring for riding lessons.

My horses would die if they ever even saw snow.
