Will that ice caked on the horses' ears cause frostbite and/or other problems?

No frostbite that I can tell.  She is still inside.

Yikes! We didn't get it near so bad here in Lancaster... and I'm really not so far from you! I did see on the news that tons of places in Dauphin county were experiencing trouble. Hope all the ponies have blankets and can stay dry!!!

The eternal question: Which is worse... ice storm or snow storm? ha.

Ice is worse - when the temps drop below freezing, their coats stay fluffy and keep them dry.  Cold rain makes them shiver.

We are back on the generator for the time being.  My alarm is set for 2 AM to refuel it.
