For me spades mean work/difficulties/trials. Clubs are luck/chance/change.  Diamonds are fortune/wealth/abundance. Hearts are family/love/friends.   I do consider the ace of spades to be death as well.

I should have added that the ace of spades doesn't always have to mean death, but also can mean an ending. So it can actually be a good omen, like the end/death of a bad habit or relationship.

That is true. I did a card reading...with regular cards and dang...they were waaayyyyyyy off. I was actually surprised at how off they were.

How so? I've always had good luck with playing cards.

The Ace of Spades is like the actual card representing death in the Tarot deck. Death does not always mean the physical death. Somethimes it does mean just an ending of something. It can be positive or negative.
