I am currently doing my Christmahanukwanzayule shopping (yes I am a little late *sigh* I will be giving gifts when I get back to college because I am so disorganized) and I am looking for a good book on Native American spirituality. It is for a friend of mine who has never really explored her spirituality all that much before, but whenever the subject comes up she brings up a wish to look into the spirituality of her Native American ancestry and the spirituality of other tribes. Now it would help if I could remember what tribe her great grandmother was from but I am afraid my memory is not good enough for that Embarrassed . Does anyone have any recommendations of a good book I could get her. I am afraid that I really a little lost here as most of my spiritual study has been of eastern religions.

I am looking for a good book on Native American spirituality.

I am not an expert on this, but a book that comes to mind (I forget the authors' names) is The Healing Blanket.  It is written by three women and is more or less in a story format, but I highly recommend it.  I would also try Kenneth Cohen.
