"Poprocks", to me, are little candy bits that fizz in your mouth

Same here. We have a name for those little firecracker things, but for the life of me I can't think of what they're called right now.

Around here, pop rocks are the candy, poppers are the noisemakers.

If any ferrier I have ever met was there (and one in particular) those kids would have gotten the snot beat out of them!!!
I keep thinking about how WH will react to this thread if/when he finds it (I'm tempted to email him to tell him he doesn't want to see it, but I suspect he might be as perverse about such things as I am).  I'm not at all sure what would have happened if he was there Shocked Shocked Shocked.

Apparently I've lived a life of dissipation, debauchery, and degeneracy.  When I hear "poppers", I think amyl nitrite.

Yeah just caught Thomas on MSN and he set me straight: "poprocks are the candy - poppers are the things that go splodey". Wink

"Poprocks", to me, are little candy bits that fizz in your mouth, and that, contrary to urban legend, do not make you explode when combined with carbonated beverages.

Same here. I remember getting some when my boy was little. I'd open my mouth by his ear and he'd laugh like a fool. He didn't much care for em himself but he liked having mommy open her "crackly" mouth by his ear. Cheesy

When I hear "poppers", I think amyl nitrite.

And when I hear "poppers" I think of cheese-stuffed jalepenos. I'm hungry.

We (my boys and I) always had fun eating popcorn - and laying our heads on top of each others to listen. Popcorn is noisy food!

At my old job we used to throw them at each other.  (Well, at the ground by their feet, they don't usually crack if you hit someone with them.)  The favorite was to throw them when someone was inflating a tire, and scare them, because when tires blow, it's LOUD.
