Honestly this whole "think positive and good things will happen to you" is the biggest bit of fluff I have ever heard. (It seems to be an undercurrent in all other varieties of fluff, LOL). The idea that you can do anything you want and be anything you want...just by thinking positively...with no actual WORK is so typical of today's society.

Lol, yes!! It's just like those diet fads you see on TV that insist you can lose weight by doing absolutely NOTHING.

I already knew about it before this, and it strikes me as a money making scam that makes people feel good.

You can, for example, have them send you a new $40 (or so) cd every month to help you on your way!  And once you sign up for it (automatic bank account withdrawls, of course) you have a hell of a time getting off.

Ahem.  I know somebody (a friend's ex) who's into it.

What do you all think?

I've not read it or watched the video, but I was under the impression that it's putting your will out there to cause things to happen.  Basically, the same idea as candle magic, minus the candles.

Essentially this is a piece of cut glass put in a Swarovski box wrapped up, tied with a ribbon and sold as a diamond.

Couldn't agree more.  Frankly, after watching the first five minutes of the film, I would rather not subject my brain to any more of the hyped-up nonsense.  They've wrapped a basic, well-known idea in an air of fluffy mysticism and hinted conspiracy (ooooohhh, the secret was buried, ooooohhh) and then aggressively marketed it as a cure for all the world's ills.  It's rather a sad but highly successful marketing ploy.

The closest I've come to this idea/concept/scam is the episode of 'Boston Legal' in which William Shatner's character was trying to apply the principles of it to bring, I think it was, Raquel Welch into his life.

If I recall correctly he got Phyllis Diller.  Or possibly Cloris Leachman.  I get them mixed up.

Yes, it is similar to (at least my concept of) magic. But it is the wrapping I have a problem with, they charge large amounts of money for something really quite obvious, exaggerate it a hundred fold, throw in a conspiracy theory going back to Ancient Egypt and a bunch of flashy effects and call it a miracle. And I for one never claimed that magic will give me a 4 million dollar house and a perfect wife/husband. As far as I can figure out it is a scam.

Ah, I see.  I wasn't aware of the 'conspiracy theory' and expensive movies.
