And now you have a potful of ashes to do something-or-other with, and you're not sure what... no, wait, that was The Cat's Ex-Aunt, years ago now. Cheesy

Seriously, while I wasn't really having some kind of weirdarse flashback and confusing the two, I did get some kind of resonance.

*grins*  Actually, the Pea-Hater has a gas hearth, so no ashes.  Smiley  But I do have candles that we also used in the ritual.

There's an astrological date to it? What happens or is it just the middle date between solstice and equinox?

I use that website to give me the astrological dates and times for celebrations.

I know it's a little late since some people celebrate Imbolc today, but what are you/did you do for Imbolc? (I'm not celebrating it officially until Monday...that's the astrological date).

I have a prayer that I wrote specifically for the occasion, and I'm keeping it short, sweet and to the point.  Cheesy

The Coven that I work within held a meeting at Imbolg in stead of a ritual, since it was the appropriate time to discuss the coming year, plans, ideas, and more. Also, there's no sign of spring what so ever here in Iceland at the moment, so celebrating it seemed a bit weird.

I am doing a personal ritual though, I'm thinking next weekend there should be some signs of Spring coming up.. But I'm not sure, we are having a pretty tough winter, and at the moment there's a storm warning and I can only see snow as far as the eye reaches, so Imbolg just isn't here yet for me..

I celebrated Sunday over into Monday since my calendar said it started at 4:30am Monday morning.

The whole weekend was awesome!  First off, it was nearly 70 degrees, so VERY springy and the first day to do so as well, so timely.  I spent Saturday on my first film set.  A good friend of mine is making a short film and it was my first go as a Script Supervisor/first go at doing ANYTHING on a set.  So I definately spent the entire day on New creative endeavors.  Then Sunday I slept most of the day because I was A. still tired from the day before and B. preparing myself for the Flogging Molly (an Irish punk band) concert that night.  The bands were great, the beer was great, the friends were great.  We just had a big ole party.  I had lit my candle for Imbolc at sundown and then just before I left for the concert, I transferred the flame energy to my amber flame necklace and carried the spirit of Imbolc around with me all night.  When I got home, I laid out my red fabric for Brighid to bless in the container garden by the door.  And the next day I placed it near my altar and cut a new strip to go around my candle.

This was probably my most intense Imbolc as far as honoring and worship goes.  Last year I only laid out the fabric and lit a candle.  But the great thing was that I didn't plan any of it FOR Imbolc.  Just like most of the things that happen around me regarding Brighid, they just Happened that way.  And I think I was better prepared to Thank her for the things and honor her because they were less planned and more of a surprise.

I'm ashamed to admit that it passed largely unnoticed even though it's my birthday because other things needed attention (read: recent heart attack sufferers were having a bad day health wise) Heck my birthday is basically postponed to an unnamed future date.
But it wasn't completely unobserved mentally at least as Imbolc. It just lacked physical/obvious notice Smiley

Don't be ashamed!! Somehow I think Brighid, as a goddess of healing and all, would be perfectly OK with that!
