Are there methods of divination that would be preferred, from a Hellenic perspective, over other methods?

I just thought I would chuck my two cents into the mix here!

I've never really been much for divination, just never really had much of a talent for it. I'm a moderator on another forum which has a heavy emphasis on the importance of the tarot...so I jumped on the bandwagon. However, instead of sticking with the popular RIder Waite's I decided to go for the Mythic Tarot (which uses ancient greek mythology in its artwork). Although I still haven't gotten entirely to grips with tarot, being able to relate to the imagery has certainly helped. I woud certainly recommend the deck to anyone with an interest in exploring divination yet staying with their hellenic path...if nothing else they are pretty!

On a side note, I have had the majority of success with divination with runes. I absolutely adore my runes and I have managed to build a really good relationship with them. We have a deep connection. I know that they are more associated with Northern traditions (norse/germanic), but as I grew up in Germany I kinda feel I can be forgiven my fascination with them. My gods certainly don't seem to mind.

I have also experimented with traditional hellenic methods such as drinking infusions of bay leaves or chewing them. With limited success I might add. If anyone has any tips in this area I would certainly appreciate it if you could share!

I suspect All that would happen if I tried that would be an upset stomach. Sad

Many of the most common (or at least commonly written about) methods of divination used by folks in ancient Greece really aren't practical or common today. This is an area we need to research and see what can be used directly. However, I also think that most modern methods of divination could be used by people already familiar with them, perhaps with some tinkering to make them fit a Hellenic wrldview a bit better.
I know reading tea leaves and coffee grounds (from a cup of Turkish/Greek style coffee) are direct descendants of reading wine sediments.  I read my teas and coffees pretty regularly
