This video taken at a California slaughter house has actually been out for a few days, but I avoided it because I was afraid I knew what it would be like. I wasn't wrong, however, you can send a letter from the site wihtout viewing the video, so I decided to post the link. If you do decide to watch it, please be aware that it is very graphic and horrifying.

I sent the letter but didnt watch the video.  I took one look at that cow in the still and figured I'd be upset for days.  And then ranting around the house after.

You would be. Trust me. I got through about 20 seconds of it with Randall standing watching it over my shoulder and that was all either one of us could take. There's no excuse for what those assholes were doing. I noticed the president of the company has a letter up for their website. IMNSHO, firing two workers and suspending the supervisor isn't nearly enough.

Especially since upper management had to either know this was going on or know that they had set up things so that stuff like this would go on. IMHO, all the assests of the company sold be sold and turned over to the humane society (and/or similar non-profit groups). As for the company's liabilities, they should not be paid out of the sale of assests, but should have to be paid by the company's management. Perhaps they would learn that way that "higher profits" is not a justification for violating the law.

The first twenty seconds are actually the worst.  After that they cut away to a guy talking about how this meat is being sold to low income, the elderly, and schools; and how a 'down cow' is more likely to cause animal fecal matter to be introduced into the meat, and that it can spread things like salmonella/e coli etc through a significant portion of the food supply, since one cow, ground can be spread across many burgers.

And games are just another way of life
And I'm gonna tell my son to be a prophet of mistakes
Because for every truth there are half a million lies
And I'm gonna lock my son up in a tower
Till he learns to let his hair down far enough to climb outside.
