Hey all-

I've been browsing the Internet (bad idea, if I do say so myself) and looking for information on Ostara. In my walk, I celebrate the 8 sabbats most typically celebrated by Wiccans (I am not Wiccan myself, it's just what feels right to me.) Sadly, a lot of the stuff I find on Ostara is for fluff bunnies. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas of what to do for Ostara?

I though about painting eggs with the family, but I'm allergic, and throwing them out afterwards doesn't seemr right.

Thanks all.

Well, you could always just let the family eat them.

I use "Spring Equinox" rather than "Ostara" myself.  I think about it in this way:  it begins the 'light half' of the year.  (Days longer than nights.)  So now is time for more active things rather than passive ones.  Less looking inside myself (divination, meditation) and studying, more doing: ritual, volunteering, caring for the earth, putting plans into motion.  It's also the time for planting seeds, literally and metaphorically.  I think about what kinds of things I am looking to accomplish by the end of the year, and start steps to make them happen.

It's also a good time for the dreaded spring cleaning - again, literally and metaphorically.  Are there bad habits I need to let die?  Old baggage I need to let go?  It's a good time for me to start new habits and endevors.

Just my thoughts, hopefully they are of some help to you.  Smiley

Dude, it's *Easter, for Christ's sake...what were you expecting? Fluff dragons? Wink

I do gardening for Ostara. It's a great time for all kinds of fertility work, not just making babies, anything you want to grow through the next year. My kids are just about too old for egg hunts now, but we have a big family dinner, and we usually go for a hike and look for wildflowers and wild babies of different kinds.

Dude, who gets too old for that?! My parents still hide the easter candy around the house. Cheesy

Then again, I still want to go out for Halloween. Tongue

Haha, my parents still hide the eggs for us too!!!  I am definitely looking forward to doing all those things for my little one when he/she pops out and is old enough to rot his/her teeth out!

I agree with Rose, Ostara is a great time for gardening.  The days are getting longer for crops to grow, take advantage!  It's a good way to get literally, closer to the earth.

I'm hoping it'll stop snowing soon! I'm getting really tired of these storms. It doesn't feel like it's time for the Spring Equinox already.

We haven't been getting snow, amazingly enough, but plenty of rain, and winds like you wouldn't believe!

Oh, reminder, everyone change your clocks forward tonight.
