have you checked out the Pagan Primer linked off the side of this page?

And, really, what's important is that you figure out what you believe and will not compromise on.  Then see what matches.  If you go the other way, you're just going to be trying to square peg/round hole yourself.

Check out the Gods as Idea's VS Gods as Archetypes thread. A lot of people here have great ideas about figuring out what gods speak to you and what you believe. At least they have helped me.

Good idea and there are a lot of newbie-question threads in the 101 sections that could help you.

There are also a couple of exercise books, like Higginbotham's Paganism. It's not a reliable info on the different paths, but it has a couple of writing and thinking exercises which help you to find out what you believe and in which direction you want to go.

Sorry for my previous laconian answer, I just saw that it could come across as sarcasm, but wasn't meant that way.  Roll Eyes I'm a seeker too.  Wink

Not without knowing a lot more about your beliefs about the universe. However, a lot of people take years to find a religion that is "the one" for them, so don't feel that there is something "wrong" with you just because you are undecided.

My beliefs about the universe...oh how I love the universe, I study Astronomy and Music (I find these are closely linked together). It is a path to the stars which I believe in mostly, I worship Taurus my star sign. I carry Taurus beads in a velvet pouch hooked to my belt buckle.

thank you for the insight, i don't feel there is something wrong with me because I'm undecided, I just don't feel comfortable knowing that i may not choose the right path.

There's no problem with getting it "wrong", either.  it's a journey, not a destination - if you're going along and learning, it's not "wrong", it's just a step.

No one's there to grade you at the end of the road. Cheesy

Have you researched the ancient and medieval science system, septem artes liberales? Those two were linked there too, though I can't explain you exactly how, maybe something concerning numbers.

I hope it's ok to link to other sites, but these quizzes might help you.
Spiritual beliefs: http://www.beliefnet.com/story/76/story_7665_1.html
Pagan Traditions quizz: http://www.selectsmart.com/FREE/select.php?client=PaganTraditions

They might help point you in a new direction, at least one that will allow you to think about and research some paths that fit with your basic beliefs.

I hope it's ok to link to other sites,

It is, but if you're ever not sure about whether something is OK or not here, I'd really appreciate it if you'd contact the staff (either privately, or post on the Board Questions, Suggestions and Feedback board) and ask to make sure before doing it.  If it turns out not to be OK, it saves both you and us a lot of trouble.  Wink

Interestingly enough, this one actually did come up with "Hellenic" for my top result.  I don't tend to put too much stock in these sorters, but they can be good places to start.

the quiz on belief net is the one that led me to this forum, as it put me as a Neo-pagan. When i read up on it, it seemed quite fitting to my person

After running through the BeliefNet one again, I don't think I actually like it as well as the other one.  It's still useful as a starting point, but it pegged me first as Unitarian Universalist, then as Secular Humanist, and then Neo-Pagan tied with Reform Judaism.   Undecided  I felt like some of the questions in the other selector were more relevant to me personally, perhaps because they start from a more specific point and thus can focus on the differences between types of Pagan rather than trying to just narrow it down to a broad category.

But to each his/her own.  Smiley

Even more interestingly, it came up with "Hellenic" for mine too.  I think they need more options.

One of the first witches I met while searching for my path told me to sit down with a pen and paper and write out all my personal beliefs, exclusive of anything else.  Sort of like Randall (I think) said.  This was a very good exercise for me as it made me more focused about how I believed and then my reading and research did not confuse me so much as clarify details and refine things for me.
Blessings on your Journey~SF

(and remember it's a journey, not a destination)
