(Hi, I'm new, and I'll write an introduction asap, but I wanted to wait till I find a thread to post in first. Grin)

As a pubert I had a severe crush on Apollon.
Here and now there are several deities I'd like to date as in 'spend time with': Hekate, Freyja, Hermes, Loki, perhaps Hades ~ I don't know much about him, but his name conjures something in my mind (and hara) that makes me think he's very ... sexy. Srry, Hades, I mean no disrespect!

But to be honest, I can't wrap my mind around the idea of a relationship or a love affair with a deity.

I would go for Apollo or Zeus first. But since I like power quite frankly I would probably "date" any of the gods. Think of the bragging rights.  Wink

Meanwhile I have changed my mind ~ about both. I want a relationship with several deities (first I translated 'relationship' as 'boyfriend'...), and I also think/hope/feel I am developing one or two.

That's the way the original question should be translated.  "Dating" would indicate a boyfriend/girlfriend relationship.

I don't think I've actually answered the question yet, but I tend to agree with your initial reaction.  A love affair with a deity is not something I particularly desire, even just as a fantasy, just pretending.  It's not a part of the way I interact with the gods.

I am thinking -
Love: yes.
Love affair: nah.

And I am fascinated that, even though I understand the nature of this thread and love giddy stuff ("rather vex your best friend than suppress a silly remark") -- nah. Can't imagine dating a deity.

Off-topic language coaching:  "Pubert" is understandable (because it's so little different from "puberty"), but not an actual word - you could say "adolescent", or "teenager" or "teen" (that's the most common), or you could construct it a little differently and say something like, "around (the time I reached) puberty...," which would strongly imply early-to-mid-teens, and/or the crush being connected to the hormonal changes.

You'd mentioned (in your intro I think) that you appreciate people letting you know, so I am - let me know if my explanations are too complicated (or too basic!).

Oops. Thanks very much. "Teen" didn't feel right, and I the word "adolescent" didn't come to my mind, so I used "pubert", which is a word I made up. It reminds me of Ernie and Pubert. Argh.

I really appreciate you correcting me! Please don't stop (if it's not too bothersome). And I'll not use my own word creations again... <|8)

Argh. Either I'm too weird, or too old, or too German...
Probably it's just that my jokes are too gormless.
Y'know... Ernie and Bert? Cookie monster?

Normally I love puns, but it's been a bad couple of weeks, so my brain isn't functioning at it's peak right now. lol

My brain's mush at this time. I hope all that is the last bit of Mercury retrograding (the planet, in this case). Everything should be wonderful from tomorrow on.

Oh please!

Not bothersome at all; I enjoy it.  And if the words you create when you're not sure of the English are as easy to figure out as that one was, they serve the main purpose, which is for people to understand what you mean.
