I can't seem to find it now, but I think I recently read a post from someone in some thread or other, talking about putting him/herself in the service of the gods.

I feel that my choice of career is in service of Brighid, as well as my work as a lighting designer for a dance company.

What are other ways one can put oneself in service of Brighid?

Anything creative I'd say. Writing, painting, metal working especially.

You're a lighting designer? AWESOME! Cheesy

You're a lighting designer?

Yes, and a stage manager.  It's my only real area of artistic creativity.  And one of the ways I can honor Brighid (light!!), along with my social justice work.

But I'm terrible with my hands (except for beading, which, oddly, I do quite well), I'm awful at creative writing, and have no training or interest in healing (other than my own migraines  Tongue ).

Personally, I feel like my writing is to her service, and so, I am in her service because... well... that's all I do.  Cheesy  Though several of my film projects have been dedicated to her, or certainly inspired by her.

I serve Her through my fair trade volunteering work - both volunteering and helping keep my local store running (and I'll be looking for volunteer opportunities once I move), and also helping educate people about it.  (Informally so far - AKA most of my friends know about it now, as well as random co-workers, family, and various other people I run across.)

I also try to honor Her through my (paid) work, since I'm employed to be (sometimes theoretically) creative.                                                   And my jewelry and writing.

I recently had a unique opportunity to honor Her - I invoked Her at an Equinox ritual my friend organized.  Which was my first time at quasi-public ritual (more of a loose group ritual) in quite awhile.  I also told some of the same group about Keeping for her before.

Not design as such, but I often run light boards for the civic theater's shows.  (Not as much now that I've got a baby at home to look after, but I still do once in a while.)

Other than the healing list, I believe that my animal rescue work is in service of Brighid.  It didn't start that way, but somewhere in the middle when I was birthing and raising a litter of kittens it hit me that That was what I was doing all this for!  haha.

I'd like to say that my costuming craft is in service of brighid, but it's not.  It's TOTALLY in service of ME!  haha.  Except for a few items I've done for SCA fun.  I have one dress that I want to embroider with Brighid symbols.  I just haven't gotten around to it yet.

Besides Cill stuff? I'm in a community band that meets once a week. We do about a half-dozen free concerts a year. I've dedicated my music to Her.
