I was wondering what you all think about this deck...

I just ordered this one from Amazon.com yesterday and can't wait to get it!

Any words of advice/caution?

That's a Rider-Waite based one from the Garr-Gromms, isn't it?

I have only their druidic animal oracle. I really like the drawings, but found the book that came with it a bit shallow. They tried to write poetically, but it sounds sometimes a bit like a 101 bubble soap without much content. Still gives you a short overview about the druidic animal lore, but I it's always 'animal xy (insert celtic name) calls you from the otherworld...' and phrasings like such.  Roll Eyes

Based on this experience I'd say enjoy the artwork, but I'd take the book with a big grain of salt. It could be though that it's basicly only their writing style I dislike, I don't know enough about the druidic stuff to tell if the content is wrong or oversimplyflying. I'd compare it to a standard book about the Rider-Waite.

Yes it is.

Ok, thanks for the advice.

I really enjoyed the artwork as well of the DruidCraft Tarot, not really researched the Druid Animal Oracle.

I tend to do more readings that are energy/spiritual-based rather than strictly by the book. So if I can connect with the cards I'll be fine.

Thanks again, Passionfruit!

I have it, but I haven't use it much. The artwork is absolutely beautiful. I haven't read much of the book either. I haven't had the deck very long and I am concentrating on another deck at the moment. To me the cards have a good feel to them and they are a larger size card. I have small hands so they are a bit troublesome. Sorry I can't tell you more, I haven't used them enough to really give you a good review.

Thanks even for the bit of information you did give me... Glad to know the artwork isn't falsified on the advertisements...

I love the fact they are larger size... It just aids me in reading deeper into the energy and spiritual aura's of those that I'm reading.

Thanks again!

The artwork is totally stunning, and the larger size is appropriate to show this off, HOWEVER I personally have found them to be a particularly unwieldy deck as a result, but that may just be because I have very tiny hands, I found vertical shuffling rather than horizontal makes it easier though; they do have a reasonable border on them which would make it possible to cut them down (something I am seriously considering) and laminate them to secure the edges. The book is relatively detailed, although very OBOD with a distinctly heavy whiff of Wicca interlaced, but that is to be expected. But then on the occaisions that I do read I tend to find just "reading" the cards is much more accurate than reading the book, which despite all it's detail comes across as decidedly vague in places. All that being said they are currently my cards of choice if I used cards.

I bought the deck a few years ago. I had originally wanted to buy the Manga Tarot (I'm an anime geek), but when I came across it I had to have it.The artwork is beautiful. The book is pretty detailed, but I just tend to go with my gut. I don't use it much anymore because I'm concentrating on La Baraja Española I used to play with when I was younger.

I got a deep respect for the cards. They are so beautiful.
Some times i come across other decks but i'd never put my cards aside, i'd feel guilty i guess hahaha.

Really great cards!

It's the only deck I own and use. The cards are a little large for shuffling and there are a few cards with naked people so it may not be something you want to use in mixed company. I think they're beautiful and they seem to be effective for me personally. I've also got my eye on the Druid Animal Oracle deck.

I really dislike the Druid Animal Oracle deck. The artwork isn't my thing - and in some cases, like the Wolf card, you've really got to wonder where the artist learned anatomy and perspective. The cards themselves aren't very helpful, either - not nearly enough info on each card to do much more than instinctive readings.

I can understand that some people don't like to see the naked people on the cards, i don't mind because it's natural and nothing to be ashamed of.
