Hello everyone!

I'm starting this topic with permission from the site's host Smiley I'm looking for Pagans/Wiccans who want to participate in online research about memory. Based on existing theory and literature, I anticipate that Wiccans/Pagans might differ from non-Wiccans/non-Pagans in the way they remember things. In my research, I will try to find out if this is the case by offering everyone sentences to remember, as well as having everyone fill out some background questions. This is for native English speakers only Smiley

The experiment consists of two separate parts. Two weeks after you finish the first part, I will email you a link to the second part. Your email address (as well as your personal information) will be used for research purposes only, and will be kept strictly confidential. In total you would have to invest approximately 40 minutes of your time.

This research is part of my Master’s degree in Psychology at the Radboud University in the Netherlands (I’m Dutch). I need as many people as possible so I would really appreciate it if you want to help me!

PS. The terms 'Wiccan' and 'Pagan' are quite arbitrary, they're used so I can address people who would, in theory, fit these descriptions. If you do not call yourself a Wiccan or Pagan, but think that your worldview may be close to theirs, feel free to participate!

Please pick one of these links based on the first letter of your surname.

I'm not a Pagan or a Wiccan, but I'll be interested to hear how your research goes.  I'm a Psychology graduate myself (although my area of itnerest is occupational/organisational).

Good luck! I'm no mothertongue, but hope you'll find enough participiants. I've been a testing rabbit in one psychological research at my uni and it didn't hurt!  Grin

Wow, a total me too post.  (Except my focus was more broadly social psychology, but I/O was my secondary emphasis.)

I like parts of most psychology - it just turned out that I was a lot better at organisational. Smiley  I'm not so good at neuropsychology or cognitive, and psycholinguistics never made any sense to me. Smiley

psycholinguistics fascinates the hell out of me - but that doesn't make it make any SENSE to me! Cheesy

I do sometimes wish I could've continued on with psych.  But I'd've had to pick just one thing ....... Wink

Gosh, my brain is slightly frazzled after that...! I found it enjoyable, though. I would be interested in hearing the results of your experiment, once it is completed.  Smiley

Neuropsych and cognitive made my brain hurt; that's part of the reason I left my program without a PhD.  The longer I was there, the more the program edged towards complete dominance of the social cognition aspect of social psychology.  It was unfun.

I would suppose that I meet your criteria.

Not being a psychology major, the majority of the responses left me a bit dazed...and feeling ignorant.

Thanks to everyone who participated! I can always use more participants, so feel free to join in on the fun Wink Of course I will post the results once the research is finished (sometime this summer, hopefully). By that time I can give more information on the exact purpose of the research as well Smiley

I will post the results once the experiment is finished. Anyone who is interested in their personal results can probably best send me an email, since it's quite a bit of work to figure out which results belong to which person, so I'm not doing it for everyone Wink
