I did not see the tag, just saw the prior post.

I...  guess I don't know what to tell you.  The tag has to be there; otherwise, the quote of my post would have appeared inside the quote box too, like so:

I will make a effort to look for it from now on.

When you hit 'reply', something like this will automatically be in the text box:

(quote author=mlr52 link=topic=61.msg137450#msg137450 date=1232465799)
I will make a effort to look for it from now on.
(/quote)

with the exception that brackets [ ] will replace the parentheses.  The two parts in brackets before and after your text is called the tag.

You can split up a post you are replying to and reply to different sections individually by using the (quote) and (/quote) tags.  (except using brackets, not parenthesis.  So I could take your above post and split it up and interject my own replies like this:

(quote author=mlr52 link=topic=61.msg137450#msg137450 date=1232465799)
I will make a effort
(/quote)

Fierflye's reply, blah blah blah

(quote)to look for it from now on.(/quote)

More blah blah blah.

And it will look like this when I post:

I will make a effort

Fierflye's reply, blah blah blah

Quote
to look for it from now on.

More blah blah blah.

Does that help?

I'm glad Fierflye was able to help you.  (Thanks, Fierflye!)  I'm sorry I wasn't able to--unfortunately, I just wasn't quite understanding what it was that you weren't understanding, I think.  Sad

The power of Earth, to provide me with a comfortable, deep cave to hide in when the lawyers from Alcoholics Anonymous come after me after seeing this version of 'their' prayer....  Shocked

tell ya what, Steve, I found this on a clean and sober pagan list, I can't remember exactly which, possibly Spiral Steps...there are many AAs there. Fortunately, to my knowledge, AA does not have anyone interested in suing for copyright infringement on stuff that is derived from the serenity prayer, which I believe is in the public domain, anyway. I promise I asked the person who shared it on the list if I could use it too, and have been asked many times to share it as well. However, if you feel morally compelled to bust me, I guess you'll just need to follow your heart Roll Eyes.

I see lots of birthdays.  I see mine and I know for a fact that I didn't physically insert it into the calendar.

So do I and I also see that they've moved the autumnal equinox to cooincide with it! It'll be lovely, as a southern hemisphere person (yes we do exist!) it's normally the spring equinox for me. What the hey, I'll go with the calendar. After all, if you see it online it's true isn't it?
