So, I just realized that I told staff, but failed to update this thread.  We eventually did name the baby, who was born August 30th, Caleb Elijah.  He took forever to get here (about 26 hours of active labor) but he's very healthy and we are both doing well.  He weighed 9lbs 9.4 oz, and was 21 inches long.   This is a picture from a couple of weeks ago:

You know, I was beginning to wonder about that.  I didn't remember when you said you were due and you never said anything about having him, either.

Anyway, treat this thread as a belated congrats Grin

Honor, after Honor Harrington in the Weber SF series. It's a female character.

Delenn from Babylon 5, or Ivonava also.

Got a lot of names that will be easy to spell in Hebrew along with English from my relatives.

Tevia after my father and the lead character in Fiddler on the Roof.

Lena, meaning "light", probably in Yiddish. Also my grandmother's sister.

Esther.

Ruth.

Ephriam.

Celia / Tzelia.  It might mean cedar, but not sure.

Celia, or Tzelia.

congrats on the baby boy, but just to let future Tzelia namers know, Tzelia actually means Limp or Lame in Hebrew and Celia is from the Latin Caelius...

don't know how well anyone may or may not read hebrew but that's a hebrew dictionary link to the word Tzelia.

It's so funny that this comes up now because we are expecting another baby and are looking for names again.  I should go back through this thread.

congrats again.

I have a funny baby announcement story for you.

Right before the election, i've been getting wierd election phone calls.  So one sat afternoon, I get a phone call

female voice:  Jack is here.
me:  Huh
Female voice  Jack is here!
me:  Who is this,
female voice.  Your mother. Krista had the baby.

I had lost track of when my brother's wife was due and had not been told that the baby's intended name was Jack.  It seems John is a family name in her family, but one of her brothers had used John, a second had used Jonathon, leaving Bill and Krista to use the diminutives.

LOL!  Cheesy

John is a family name in my family, too, so my cousin and my brother are both named John but go by their middle names, Connor and Brannon. It's the same with Jeanne, except all us ladies have it as our middle name and use our first names, for me that's Caitlin. I always thought John and Jeanne as family names was uninspired but we're stuck with it, I suppose.

Congratulations again, Sperran! I put forth Juniper, Ramona, and Matteo as names I like for future children but have been vetoed by my partner, lol!
