I was wondering if anyone else feels a strong connection to the Egyptian God, Set.  He likes to appear in my dreams.  Set was the first God that I have been fascinated with.  I still have a fascination with him to this day.

Only recently has he been appearing in my dreams.  Around that time, I also felt a presence different from the ones I normally feel.

Speaking of which:

I tried to approach Him last night because I felt some odd presence and when I got to "please grant me-" I heard someone distinctly say "I'm not granting you anything."

Sounds like Him! Before I even knew who He was, I was made to understand that I was not getting anything but a kick in the pants. With the impression of "you're an adult, you don't need coddling."

He laughed at me when I first spoke to Him.

All he said to me was I was Aset's kid (while he was still laughing at me) and that he did love Nebet Het ("Me too, kid").  I had asked him if he did love Nebet Het.  I was unsure about their relationship so...

Oh, no.  Set won't give you anything--you'll work your *ss off for it, and he'll laugh at you if you fall on your face.  You'll get a pat on the back and maybe a tiny tilt of the odds in your favor if you get up and go back after it, though.

Have any of you ever read "The Egypt Game"?  It was about these kids who built a sort of Egyptian Temple in an empty lot, and the things they did to call on and embody the gods and goddesses.  I will always think of Set as this creature built of dark mud, dried and cracked, with a red glint in his dark shiny eyes.  *shivers*  It was a good kinda scary.
