Classic rock for me, with sides of alternative.

Eagles - Hotel California
Stones - Paint It Black
B.O.C. - Don't Fear the Reaper
Aerosmith - Livin' on the Edge
N.I.N. - Perfect Drug
Soundgarden - Spoon Man

Other artists I like : Smashing Pumpkins, The Who, Pink Floyd, Doobie Brothers, Pearl Jam.

I also listen to way too many soundtracks so favs there - Robin Hood:Prince of Thieves, LOTR: Two Towers, Apollo 13, Batman, Dances with Wolves.

I am such a music oddball.

RWM, you have named most of my favorite songs of hers, so no need to repost them :p  I would add: "Goodbye Baby" (aka "The Tower" version), "Sorcerer" (the Buckingham Nicks version), "Twisted" and "Sleeping Angel"

I also like, but am not limited to the following:

"Wish you were here" by Pink Flyod
"Going to California" by Led Zeppelin (I love most of their stuff though, so picking one is difficult)
"Mysterious Ways", "Walk on" by U2 (Again, difficult here)
"Instant Karma" by John Lennon
"White Rabbit" by Jefferson Airplane"
"Strong Enough" by Sheryl Crow (yeah, don't really like her, but I love this song, expecially when she sings it with Stevie Nicks)
"The One", "Annie" and "White Houses" by Vanessa Carlton (I love her and I think she is sooo much better live than on her albums)

What is your favorite song from some of your favorite music artists?

As is always the case for me with this kind of question, I've only managed to narrow it down to ten choices.  And even some of those might change if I'm in a different mood.

Carter USM- A Prince in a Pauper's Grave
Two aging Brixton punks.  With silly haircuts, a shared love of bad puns and a drum machine.  They had no right to be this good.  Although they were responsible for a 16 year old me beliving that long shorts were a viable fashion option.  A fact for which I've still not forgiven them.

Half Man Half Biscuit- Totnes Bickering Fair
In a just world, HMHB would be recognised as master satirists on a par with Swift and Wilde.  Sadly, they've had to settle for having fans like me.  Who are obsessive about them in a slightly creepy way.

Misty's Bad Adventure- Fashion Parade
Local (literally, they all live ten minutes walk from me) psychedelic eccentrics skewer modern indie scene pretensions.  With added Noddy Holder.

Murder by Death- Brother
Stripped down rock and role done to perfection.  Admittedly, the band are helped by the sensible decision to dress up as 1920's gangsters for this video.  All bands look cool when they dress as 1920's gangsters.  New Kids on the Block would have been infinitely better if they dressed as 1920's gangsters.

Jarvis Cocker- Running the World
NSFW.  Contains the most taboo swearword in the English language.  Several times.  The ex Pulp frontman puts class rage to a tune for this sing-a-long classic.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=monyiOsoKxg

Pop Will Eat Itself- Ich Bin Ein Auslander
Another slice of tightly coiled rage.  Previously largely apolitical, the Poppies responded to the resurgence of the far right in Europe with this anti-fascist aural assault.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L30VL4IFzkw

Lancashire Hotpots- He's Turned Emo
The Hotpots take the novel approach of singing about modern pop-culture phenomonen in the style of a traditional Lancashire folk band.  They're awesome, naturally.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xilOgjeEwPg

Broken Family Band- You're Like a Woman
Misanthropic.  Bitter.  Cynical.   Jaded.  Marvellous.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2OMohKnIvT8

New Model Army- Vagabonds
Self styled "hippies with attitude" and probably the band that means more to me then any other.  This is the sound of a childhood dream put to music.  (The violin is to die for).
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q0ydV3poTqI

Sultans of Ping FC- Where's Me Jumper
Cork's finest sing a tender little ditty about an experience we can all empathise with.  That of leaving your favourite pullover in the local indie discotheque.
