Wassail!

Greetings from the frozen north, land of the midnight sun and the last frontier.  You can call me Rauðbjørn,  I am an Asatruar in search of co-religionists, friends or at least people who don't look at me like I wear a Star Trek uniform to work Wink when I tell them I "Keep Troth With the Old Gods".

I'm a craftsman, hunter, teacher, brewer, chef, blogger, mechanic, writer, poet, artist and warrior, I'll try anything once and lend a hand to any honorable endeavor.  I have a low tolerance for stupidity and infinite patience with ignorance.  I read voraciously; good non-fiction and even better fiction.  I listen to almost any type of music (except for new country and prog jazz) and do not watch TV.  I believe in violence as a solution, action as a path to peace and death as a part of life.

I am happy to be here, and pleased to meet you all.

That definitely will not be a problem here -- and don't forget to check out our sister forum, Asatru Lore.

Oh gods that brings an amusing image to mind.  I should do that sometime just to be crazy.  Except I don't have the uniform...

His (assuming male from "craftsman") flag shows up as U.S., but that's probably an oversight. "Land of the Midnight Sun" could be anywhere above the Arctic Circle, couldn't it? Though the name is definitely Nordic, which would include Iceland. (Cool name; apparently it means "red bear".)

Raudbjorn (sorry, I don't know how to get the cool letters), where are you from?

I believe in violence as a solution

Interesting philosophy. Care to elaborate?

Color me stupid for not actually reading his profile first; thanks, Absent.

And I was being far too literal with "Land of the Midnight Sun"; that appellation is pretty specific to Alaska, isn't it? (Just as "Down Under", while it could apply to anywhere in the Southern Hemisphere, is reserved for Australia.)

Well, hey! A man of many talents. I'm a writer/reader/poet and so forth also, or at least I like to think so! Probably we could have some really rousing arguments.  Wink Great to 'meet' you.
