Ya know? He just didn't have a good pick. I don't think she's going to bring a whole lot with her, but that might have been the main consideration because she probably won't piss off a lot more of his base.

Well, I can honestly say I didn't see that coming. If he was going to pick a woman I figured it would be Conde.

Except maybe the fact he picked a woman.

Neither did I, I thought for sure he would pick Lieberman.

Do you think he chose Palin to try to win over the undecided Hilary supporters?

This is shaping up to be a historic election to be.  Either we get the first black president or the first female VP.

Well, Kay Bailey Hutchison's name was floated, but she wants to be Governor and taking on Goodhair here in Texas should be a no brainer. Of course, Kay Bailey is also pro-choice and that would be poison to the GOP. But still, Palin is problematic for a couple of reasons, a) she's a woman and there's the bigot vote to consider (and what are they going to do now?) and b) there's a corruption investigation going on that's touched on her administration. And the real biggie is that no one knows who in the hell she is outside of political junkies and Alaska.

You know, I'm not sure. And I'm not sure it would work anyway, after the convention. Hilary seemed to make it clear where she wanted her supporters to go. I dount the lure of a woman VP would be as strong as a Democrat as president when it comes to the undecided supporters.

And McCain can't play the experience card anymore.  And if Obama's smart he'll play up the "McCain thinks you're dumb enough to follow him just because he picked a woman VP but I have more respect for you" angle.

I think the Reps were tired of the Dems making history with minority nominations, talk about a "me too" political move, how blatant can you get? Roll Eyes

True, I can just imagine something like this:

Obama/Biden Camp: "If you don't vote for us, you're racist."

McCain/Palin Camp: "If you don't vote for us, you're sexist."

And if you stay at home, you're a racist sexist.

*cough*my grandfather*cough*

Lyric is just quoting an interview with her from a week or two ago where she admits she has no idea what the Vice-President does. ::head desk::  Lyric will probably post a link to this.
