Remember Drew's boss from the "Drew Carey Show".  He has a talk show.  I admit that's where I got it from... however, I believe I've heard it elsewhere, just can't remember where.

Really?  I didn't know that.  I would ask which station/time but I know that varies from place to place.  Plus it wouldn't be the same without a woman with heavy blue eyeshadow as his assistant.

I think between you, mel and EF, only one has a very appropriate screenname for these kind of shenanigans...  And If yall make me tear up again, I will have to go get an eshotgun...

Would it be inappropriate, then, to remark that I hear semen makes a good moisturiser?

(seriously?  I've been told that, but I have no clue what the claims are based on.  I'm not wrinkly enough yet to get that desperate)

I think it has to do with the protein content, but I'm not sure. I've heard the claim, too.

Makes sense, semen is more or less pure protein so that could help.

Apparently book banning did figure into Palin's tenure as mayor. (And I still say McCain's campaign didn't vet this woman. And if it did, it's even more embarrassing.)

Well, that explains the firing of the librarian.  Not a good omen even though her cleaning up of Alaskan politics was / is a good thing.  Probably still an overall negative for voting McCain / Palin.

I'm not sure how much she actually did w/r/t clean up work. It seems her story changes after information comes out showing a bit different story.

So in other words, the image that she and the McCain camp are projecting doesn't match up with her actual record?

*shrugs*

Politics as usual, I guess.

A whole lot of what I'm seeing seems to head down a different track from what Palin has claimed (in some cases, it's just her and not the campaign saying stuff).

The whole reformer bit seems to be pretty well overblown. Being a reformer, IMO, doesn't include running a pro-Stevens 527 group and working to get more earmarks (like that damned Bridge).

Although she apparently killed the bridge to nowhere, but I don't have details of when or why.  It could be that she was beholden enough to state GOP that the 527 was a quid pro quo of sorts.  Once Stevens was out of the picture, she could use either some sense or look good politically and kill it.

Not exactly. That was the first talking point, IIRC, that fell almost immediately.

Also, I think she ended up keeping the money rather than sending it back. I know I've read that Ketchican is pretty pissed about this thing.

The thing is, though, it doesn't really matter if she was beholden to the state GOP or not. Remember, she's a reformer. She's also a running mate to a man who has touted his campaign reform credentials. For me, that makes this a problem on two fronts. First, she's no where near a reformer when it comes to the stuff of campaigns and second she's got her fingers in the 527 pie for a guy who is indicted.

Now, I wouldn't object to her reform stance or the 527 bit or the Bridge thing, but it's patently NOT the way it's been spun.

Well, she is being spun as a reformer.  or maybe the past tense is now appropiate.  Thanks for the link.

Not a problem. It seems the positives get tossed out and then batted back a few hours later.

I haven't bothered to read the articles, but PajamasMedia has (as of Tuesday evening) a bunch of articles calling Palin a great choice, a bad choice, McCain has blown the election, McCain will get the upset Clinton supporters, etc.  chose which one you want to believe.
