And I would also point out that it's the assholes who make the work of the real activists ten times harder. There is a huge difference b/w a shit disturber and an angry citizen working for real change.

And it's worse when non-violent protest groups hang out with groups who advocate violence and plan for it.  It makes it very hard to discern if the non-violent groups are just a cover or not.

True, but there's a reason Freedom of Association is enumerated in our Bill of Rights.

Apparently the anarchists showed up. I know there were reports of broken store/car windows and trash bin fires.
I really do wish they'd find some place else to be.

According to Starhawk, part of the Reclaiming activist cells intention in allying with *some of the anarchists group was to help support the ones that are not about violence and mayhem-they are all lumped together, and a lot of them are as non-violent as any of the other protesters. There was quite a long piece about that on her blog the other day. But the real dickheads are just going to be dickheads, no matter what they call themselves-anarchists, facists, whatever. They really don't give a shit about anyone but themselves, and that is their main direct action MO, it seems.

The thing on the seizing of the Permibus is interesting.  Why would you seize a bus like that?

Can't say why, but if anyone's interested, here's some video coverage of the seizure:
