We have threads dedicated to favorite movies, bands and songs, but I noticed that we have none for favorite TV shows.

So what are your favorite TV shows?

Mine (in no particular order):

--Six Feet Under.  It's set in a funeral home and is filled with the dark humor that I love as well as interesting plots.  I own the first two seasons on DVD.

--Queer as Folk (American Version).  What can I say, I found it hilarious.

--Jeopardy The only show that I make a point to watch everyday.

--Mythbusters

--Surviving History.  This was on The History Channel this past summer but I'm not sure if it will come back or not.  It's basically Mythbusters for the morbidly inclined.  The premise is a group of people recreate torture and execution devices.

--Digging For The Truth

--Cities of the Underworld

--The Simpsons even though I haven't watched it in years.  (Same probably applies to House and Bones)

--Drawn Together

--Will and Grace

--Friends

--Charmed

--Buffy and Angel

I know that there will be more Cheesy

dude, you watch way too much tv.

My darling daughter has got me into Project Runway, somehow. Love the crazy sewing.
I watch old Lovejoy reruns, otherwise, and whatever dinosaurs or knights-n-castles thing the fellers are watching on Discovery or History channel.
but now that I think about it....
We sometimes watch ST:NG reruns en famille on Monday nights, on SciFi. Also the Ghosthunters show is a riot
And of course I am freaky about Ice Road Truckers, but that's over now. And Man V. Wild-something about Bear eating raw snake is very hot. And oh yeah, Anthony Bourdain on the Travel Channel, and Bizarre Foods I love too.

In my defense, some of those shows are off the air, others are on at different times of the year and a few I don't watch as much of as I use to.  Only two of them are on a regular basis.

...probably the only two shows I watch with any sort of regularity.  Right now, my brain is short-circuiting for anything else.

I don't have a lot of time for TV these days, I catch what I can on DVR.  My husband and I enjoy:

- House
- No Reservations (Anthony Bourdain)
- Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares (on BBC America)

Supernatural -- season premiere this week!  Way hot -- and vaguely incestuous! -- brothers travel around the USA, hunting fairly-well-researched monsters from American folklore.  I think this show was genetically engineered to hit all my weirdass kinks, narrative and otherwise.  Cheesy

All the CSIs.  I find them stupidly compelling -- with Miami, emphasis on the really freaking stupid (Horatio Caine IS the Miami Messiah!).   Also, adorable Greg (on Vegas) and equally adorable Ryan (on Miami) are my husband's doppelgangers, to a truly creepy degree.

House, Blackadder, Jeeves and Wooster:  Hugh Laurie is my celebrity boyfriend.

Psych:  We just rented these DVDs, and they are *hilarious*.  Slacker dude with photographic memory solves crimes; the cops won't buy that he's just that observant, so he pretends to be a psychic.

All the Law and Orders except Criminal Intent -- I don't like knowing the identity of the killer right away!  These are so comfortingly predicable, and there's been some great actors.

Midsomer Murders:  fun, snarky British TV series based on the wonderful novels by Caroline Graham.

Bones:  like a non-supernatural version of the X-Files where Scully always gets to be right.  Also, Angel!

Buffy and Angel, naturally.

My mother and sister are obsessed with the entire Law and Order franchise.  Seriously, it's practically all they watch (except when one of their shows on Fox is on).  They seem to like SVU the most.  I think they are okay and will watch them, but they are not what I will call my favorites

I don't watch much TV these days, but a few of my favorites include:

Star Trek (ALL series, except for Enterprise, which I haven't seen - my favorite moment from any Star Trek is this moment from Deep Space Nine: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DmXzamLDgFk.  Avery Brooks's voice is just beautiful,)
Buffy (never seen Angel)
Charmed
Extras
X-Files

Not to mention too much anime to name (top two would have to be Cowboy Bebop and Death Note, though.

Fiance and I are totally with you there on "Psych." LOVE that show. My DD enjoys it as well. (The thing that sucked her in was realizing the actor who plays Lassiter was the costar in "The Luck of the Irish," about a boy whose mother was a leprechaun; the actor in question played a Fir Dearg (sp?), I think it was, who was after the mother's gold. Henry Gibson was in it as well.)

All of us (his two DDs and mine, and both of us) watch "Monk" also. He and I also watch the occasional L&O (we've seen nearly all of the old episodes of all the various franchises, I think) and "NCIS" when we think of it.

2001, according to IMDB. I had to look it up to get the name right.

Heh...they do occasionally boldly go into the gamma quadrant, but you're right, the focus isn't as much on exploration.  They do the war-based story arcs very nicely, though, and there are many good and several exceptional actors making up the cast.
