Also, I'm slowly working my way through the original run of Dark Shadows again.  Grin

My childhood favorite  Cheesy! I tried watching it awhile back but it was just too slow paced, I suppose it was because I knew the outcome, and I just wanted to get to my favorite bits.

Thank you.  Streamlines my 'research' too.

I read the regular Wikipedia article, and I think I would understand it all on Thursday night (except how Dean got out of hell, of course).  The Supernatural Wiki is a good research tool, so I will be looking at that for the finer details.

yeah. plus the old flat video just doesn't do it for me. It was much more thrillling when I was in 1st grade.

But The Avengers were, and are, awesome.

That (and the other things you said in that post) is all I needed.  I looked it up and the new season is starting up on Thursday.  Would I miss out on a lot if I started watching it now without watching it before?

Or you could buy the series on DVD, if you can find a good online price.  Then you get the benefit of the pause button. :p

Unfortunately, I'm strapped for cash at the moment.  Plus I'm in the middle of watching Six Feet Under on DVD.  However, I get the feeling that I will be adding many TV shows to my collection eventually. Tongue

Another of my favorite shows. I just rewatched the first season not too long ago and enjoyed it just as much the second time around.

I got the first two seasons on DVD.  I started to watch them again sometime last week and I'm now on the seventh episode of the second season.

I'm going to watch that and episode eight tonight so I can finish that disk Smiley

We have threads dedicated to favorite movies, bands and songs, but I noticed that we have none for favorite TV shows.

So what are your favorite TV shows?
 My favorite shows are:
-House
-Deadliest Catch
-Ghost Hunters

We have threads dedicated to favorite movies, bands and songs, but I noticed that we have none for favorite TV shows.

So what are your favorite TV shows?

There are others, but these are what come to mind.

Old/cancelled:

First:  Firefly, Buffy, & Angel.  (In that order.  I'm a Joss Whedon nut, what can I say?)
The West Wing (I want Bartlett for president.  But I'd settle for Santos.  Or Vinick.)
The X Files (The Duchovney years.  I stopped watching when Mulder went missing.)
The Prisoner  (There's really no describing this one.  Undecided )
Blake's 7 (Great characters, aweful budget.)
Babylon 5
Red Dwarf
Blackadder
The Sharpe series on BBC.  (Mmmmm....  Sean Bean.....)

Still on the air:

House (OK, I must've blinked.  When did Hugh Laurie get sexy?)
Heroes (Didn't like season 2 much.  I'm holding out for season 3 before making a final decision on this one.)
Mythbusters
New Battlestar Galactica
The Daily Show & The Colbert Report

Watched Supernatural last week and it was interesting.  I need to watch a few more episodes before I can make a final decision on it as I do with any new show I watch.

Wow. Just heard Mad Men has recieved Emmy nominations. It is by far the most intelligent TV show I have ever watched. I can't see that it has a large audience though.

Did you get a chance to watch the Season three premire? What did you think of it?

No, I missed it.  I didn't know it was coming up until the day after it aired.  *annoyed*

Did you (or anyone here) see it?

I did. The first part was OK. Crammed though, like they tried to fit two episodes into one. The second part was much better. So far the season looks promising. Maya is still there though, and she really does annoy me to no end.
Supposedly you can see the episodes free on NBC's web site.
