(Not sure if we have southern hemisphere types here.)
Do people want to do a group shift for the Equinox? I'm up for it, definitely. I was thinking the 21st and the 22nd, but that's mostly because of when I'm doing ritual.
Are you thinking two days for any particular reason, or just because you're remembering we've sometimes done that? 'Cause usually that's because there's some haziness/divergence in when people celebrate cross-quarters - rather than having a big debate about whether Imbolc/Brigidfeast is Feb 1 or 2, we just keep for both days. Solstices and equinoxes are easier to pin down - this one happens at 11:44 am EST (
so sayeth the
Farmers' Almanac website - note that it's
not in Daylight time) on Mon 22 Sep, so it's pretty undebatable that a one-day group shift would start at sunset on the 21st.
While I personally like the pattern of two days for the cross-quarter days and one for the quarter days (but I can't put my finger on
why that pattern is so satisfying to me), there's no real reason AFAIK why we can't have all the group keepings two days long. But I'd prefer it to be something explicitly discussed and agreed on, rather than dependent on which memories are clearest for whoever remembers to post to ask about it.
