My head hurts.

Evangelicals see moral decline in Wall St. woes

DALLAS (Reuters) - Conservative U.S. Christians say the culture has gone to hell and it has taken the economy and Wall Street down with it.

SO obviously after the great depression, we became more moral.

SO obviously after the great depression, we became more moral.

Considering many Americans at the time seemed to cheer for people like John Dillinger for robbing banks during the Great Depression, we were very moral indeed.

It's things like this, unfortunately, that make me so concerned about the Christian Right.

When all the chickens of 'free trade'-driven outsourcing, and trillion-dollar trade and budget deficits, come home to roost, who will be the Christian Evangelical-designated scapegoats?

I want a force field that limits the influence that these people have on my government and my life, but I'll settle for the Democratic Party.

My guess is they're going to blame it on California allowing the gays to get married.

I'm surprised that we didn't hear anything from the senile old fool who blames every disaster on God's wrath yet.

Jesus IS a big fan of unregulated free market capitalism and he rewards those who "get right with God" with lots of money as well.... At least according to many popular fundie ministers he does.

Absolutely.  Doon't you remember the bit in the Bible where Jesus refuses to associate with prositutes and other social undesirabls, throws the first stone at an adulteress, and tells rich people that they can get to Heaven f they buy this awesome giant needle.

Oh, and then he turned water into brandy and bread into cigars.

You know, St. Columbanus DID turn water into beer for the Christians, and beer into water for the fornicating Pagans. I suppose Jesus could have done too. Wink

See, this is why I have to spend all day with a pen editing the Bible.  I can't keep up with you guys...

Have you ever seen Firefly?  This reminds me of a scene where one character decides to 'fix' the Bible.

Well, yeah, but IIRC she just tears the pages out rather than "editing" per se.  Editing with a pen would've required a little more lucidity than River usually tended to have all in one place, I think.

Looks like he's been busy prognosticating other events. Smiley\
