Christian broadcaster Pat Robertson foresees war soon in Mideast

From the article: 'Robertson tied his warning to biblical prophesy. His letter, which starts out describing his concerns about Russian aggression in Georgia, predicted that Russia would also enter the war, though the United States wouldn't. "However, we may not be spared nuclear strikes against coastal cities" in America, he wrote.'

That's the loopiest nonsense I've heard in a long time. That there will be another war in the middle east is a fairly safe bet as there is generally one ready to flare up at any time.  That Russia will enter the war militarily is a real stretch. I can't see this happening unless Israel nukes a real Russian ally. That the US stays out of the war but US coastal cities get nuked -- by the Russians, I guess as no one else in the area has missiles capable of reaching US coastal cities -- seems just plain silly as it assumes the Russians are lead by people who think like Robertson. Fortunately, while Putin and friends have a lot of problems from a US POV, they all think much differently and much more clearly than Pat does.
